Draftees from outside the AFL system
Sydney Pennski replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Agreed - and much more than Carlton deserved given they deliberately bottomed out this year by the way they traded. -
I think his fall from grace is more of an attitude thing than his ability to play the game. He kicked 5 in the win against Brisbane in round 2.

Judging by the way we regularly coughed up the footy last night, I would have to say we are f......d.

Post Match Discussion - Semi Final
Sydney Pennski replied to Wollongong Demon's topic in Melbourne Demons
In losing last night, Hawthorn becomes the first club in the current top-eight era to go out of the AFLFinals in straight sets twice . They are now 0-4 in finals since the 2015 flag. -
Meanwhile . . . down at Glenferrie Road . . . .
Sydney Pennski replied to JTR's topic in Melbourne Demons
I think whoever wrote that might be on to something. Their game style would probably work against most teams but not in the pressure cooker of the finals. When they were desperate to catch up they held onto the ball for too long and allowed our defence to set up and counter them. It reminded me of past days when Demon fans would complain that we had no Plan B. -
The idea definitely has some merit. If I recall correctly, the Scully family home was in the Narre Warren area so he won’t have very far to go to play at Casey Fields.
-
It definitely has to be a distraction but once the players get onto the field it probably won’t effect them. Collingwood by 40 points.

Yes. I thought he was describing himself.

Used to love these back in the day.

Match Preview and Team Selection - Round 17
Sydney Pennski replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Lever was injured early in that game and so was Tim Smith which means that our team for tomorrow has to be at least on par with that one while the Dogs are about 25% weaker. -
I just don’t see Bolton doing anything as a coach to lift his side. How long is his contract?

Compounded by the fact that the Blues have a bye for the round which means they couldn't showcase the competition's worst side on the Friday night stage this week.

2017 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
Sydney Pennski replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
No, not that bad. When the AFL planned the new franchises it expected that Gold Coast would find it easier to recruit and retain players than GWS. In the end, it overcompensated and gave the Giants too much in the way of concessions. IMO, the AFL has to do something when one of its clubs can finish top four and then use the bidding system to turn picks 2, 10, 37 and 39 into 2, 5, 14 and 20. It's scandalous! -
WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - CLAYTON OLIVER
Sydney Pennski replied to Freddy Fuschia's topic in Melbourne Demons
I read somewhere that Simon Goodwin compared Christian Petracca's attitude to training with that of Ricciuto and since we can't have two of them, I'll go with the Oliver/Dangerfield comparison but without raising any expectations of course ? -
Congratulation WJ and co ... what's the baby's name?

This thread is named after a snake, isn't it? And, if so, should there be any discussion allowed on here about slimy reptiles?

Round 1

They say if you bat first in India then you don't get beaten often and a score of 380 at lunch on the second day looks solid. But do we have the bowling attack to get them out twice?
-
Don't tell me Kero Wilson was in attendance in Bay 13?

Could you at least spell my name correctly please?

You object to WYL & WJ's "partisan political comments" but not Redleg's which started them in the first place. Well, that seems to be a political statement in itself to me. Back on topic, my favourite part of Truth was Heartbalm. If those situations weren't made up I'll bear my proverbial in Bourke Street or New Orleans.
