  1. I now like the 2 Keepers plus 2 keeper players 21 or under idea! That really puts an interesting real twist into draft day.& will leave plenty of Star players up for grabs.
  2. Some serious deep breaths & chilling out needs to happen here. My few cents worth 1. I like the Keepers concept / I can also live with the current way thing's are. I am definately prepared to compromise from 4 Keepers down to 2 2. RR - As stated last night, you have been a big part of this comp from day one. Last season was sensational, I was crap for most of it but building up rivalries, sledging & puting together trades kept it interesting. The fact that we got 100% return buy in in season two, told the entire story. Don't do it Wooders, sleep on it & make your final call tomorrow. 3. JA - I don't envy your position, it is impossible to keep all of the people happy all of the time. Both your positions are clear here, I am sure level heads will make the correct decision. Shame you won't be the main man in season 2013, I am unable to step up due to other commitments however will 100% support your replacement.
  3. You never now with Garland,Neita was a star CHB & once moved forward never returned. It's all about Grime's body - It hold up & he is a midfielder. Watts has been impressive down back, finding the footy & growing in confidence. Those leaps over the pack to offer a huge spoil in the last where very good. Flexability is the key to long term success.
  4. C'mon Wooders - Hang Tough Just like The Demons, thing's are never as bad as they can seem. Your a self confessed Fantasy Football tragic, you love this Comp. JA has always been an open book, listens to everyones input, & always runs with majority rules. I am sure like many of us experiance on the work front it is impossible to get 100% buy in on every idea or change. All that said there is always a review system & if thing's are generally not working, I'm sure we can tweek again You have been a valuable part of this UF Footy Comp from day one, wouldn't be the same without you man. As JA said, Take up the challenge, don't leave.
  5. My biggest problem is teams giving up @ the half way mark of the season. It's close to tanking & does not encourage a healhy competition. There needs to be something added to encourage teams to continue to compete flat out all season. I actually don't mind the Keepers concept & think we are committed to playing that format in 2013. Sure we can have another look if it really does create an uneven comp, however I hate the sell your soul attitude this season to improve next season. Perhaps we need to set up a special Trade week at the end of the season, before the 2013 draft? & maybe some sort of incentive like a Priority Pick for the most improved team from 9th - 18th in the 2nd half of the season.
  6. Grimes was doing a little more than sweeping in the final quarter - He hit every contest at 100 miles per hour. Overall pretty spot on wrap JoeBoy
  7. Fair Call RR - It is going to be a tough ask from the bottom rungs no doubt. Surely 4 Keepers is the Max from any single season? Any greater number of keepers & it would be mission impossible , I guess this whole concept hasn't really been helped by the recent spate of dodgy looking trades that have unfolded..
  8. I am in Footy Tips? What are we talking about here? Team OMR hits the extended break on the back of 3 consecutive Victories Welcome back Mumford, Swan, Heath Shaw & the barnstorming arrival of Jonno Patton & game on in the 2nd half of the season.
  9. I know exactly what your talking about JT9 I haven't felt that stress level, rapid heart beat feeling for a long time. Footy has the most amazing way of bringing out emotions in all of us. I am looking forward to learning to cope with these types of games once again, certainly better than the deep dark hole we have been trapped in. Onward & upward Demons
  10. Welcome back from Japan JCB - As usual you have nailed the hard hitting issue right on the head. The last week of trades have been a little bizzare - A league Committee is a solid suggestion to police this going forward. Don't get to comfortable at the top of the tree, quite a few teams in very good form intend to hunt you down. Not sure why we are not playing through the Byes either? It would of added an interesting twist to the season. Anyway welcome back & let me know when you are ready to trade Stevie J? HT - There is probably not enough space on the Demonland website to list all your interesting lopsided proposals. The Sylvia - Shuey proposal was a joke in direct response to your Travis Colyer(who the fark is he) - Sylvia trade proposal 2 minutes earlier. Lets have a look at a couple of your classic proposals in season 2012 * Dane Swan - Xavier Ellis / D. Mundy The No. 5 ranked player for a bloke who hasn't played in 2012 & another bloke pushing towards the 300's. & as for your fascination with Colin Sylvia *James Kelly / Colin Sylvia - again X. Ellis / D. Mundy combo * Nathan Jones / Colin Sylvia - again X.Ellis / D.Mundy combo * Colin Sylvia - Tom Scully (Disgusts me he was ever on your list) * Colin Sylvia - Scully & the now delisted Zach Touhy We all know what Colin has delivered in season 2012 to date but then again we all know what he is capable off. Thing's can turn very quickly in this game, so I wouldn't get too smart too quickly. YOU are playing an interesting game listing trade proposals, just dont forget about people who live in glass houses my friend.
  11. Forget Boak - You have no idea NSC Boak is 10 times the player Yarran is & a much better fit for the MFC. Maybe watch him play sometime before making uneducated comments. Boak is exactly what we need. T
  12. Matthew Bate - 100% has to be traded, delisted, cut from our list. The boy can't play, he would struggle to make an impact in the EFL Just another Craig Cameron disaster. The rest of your list is pretty spot on.
  13. Back to Back victories, lead by the most unlikely Ruck Combo of Mike Pyke & Billy Longer (60 Hit Outs between them again if you dont mind) Big Mummy might struggle to get straight back in when fit. Jay Schultz interests me MM. Check out my list Well done to all winners in round 9, especially our new Ladder Leader. Stevie J is propelling your squad rapidly towards the Ultimate glory
  14. Same meaningless dribble - Nothing ever changes - We simply could not afford to bottom out like this again Fact : After all those top 20 picks in the last 4 years, we are an embarrassment once more. How the Fark did this happen? Over it!
  15. You really rate David Swallow dont you? Listed him twice. A pretty good effort all round. My top 4 1. Fyfe 2. Sidebottom 3. Dangerfield 4. Shuey
  16. After some painful close loses Finally manage to tough out a victory against SnomeD. Two big pats on the back for my new Ruckmen Billy Longer & Mike Pyke. Now the ice is broken, the belief is back I have decided to send Dane Swan of to Arizona for the next month to freshen up.
  17. Involving Garry Lyon again in the new Coach selection process.
  18. Daz, think yourself lucky you missed the early 80's & all of the 70's This disappointment has a familiar feel to it! Simply can't get my head around this has been allowed to happen again. The only single remaining factor that is keeping me afloat in my love for this club is the memory of 1987. The excitement & emotion was almost impossible to put in to words. I crave the next step of actually winning a GF. Sadly I think we have another long & tortourus road ahead.
  19. What's "Swooper Northey" up to these days? What I would give to return to the competitive days of 1987 - 1994
  20. Spot on Stuie LIke many on here I have followed this team through all the hard years of the 70's & early 80's THIS IS THE WORST TEAM I HAVE EVER SEEN. We would struggle to beat Noble Park, Balwyn Tigers or Vermont in the EFL.
  21. Not alot of interaction going on in the UF - Norm Smith Leauge in 2012? This Post never sliped to page 4 in 2011. Step it up lads. Deevoted - Thanks for the detailed response on my Trade Offer to you this week. More than happy to revisit this possible exchange when you are ready. I genuienly think both sides structure's would benefiet greatly,& as mentioned in my offer both boy's are guns. Good Luck to all sides this week. Except you of course SnomeD
  22. RR - Getting a little deep for me @ this time of night. I'll think about the DLC concept & post some thoughts tommorow Your comments on the scoring system seem pretty spot on to me, well worked through. I agree it is frustrating smashing out 17 plus goals most weeks & being rolled on Free difference / Hit Outs. PS : RR I just threw a random trade offer your way
  23. My two cents again. I don't mind either concept, & I am feeling your passion here Wooders. We definately need to decide how we are going forward. However as stated in previous threads we our 6 rounds into this season & several trade deals/rejections have already gone down. Several coaches have chose to hold injured players (myself included with Big Mummy) that they would have traded to better there outcomes this season to date, if the Keepers Strategy was not in place. If we are to abandon the Keepers concept by majority than the P/R model should be introduced inbetween 2013 - 2014 season. This would also ensure we have 100% commitment from both Leauges over a tested time - frame. My vote is to retain the Keepers strategy that we have commenced. However if we head down the other path, I would be cool with that also.
  24. In Response to HT & RR's call for a relegation / promotion thread. Jack Attack - Please confirm which way we are approaching the 2013 season? Both Keeper & R/P concepts have there merits. My concern is wasn't this already decided? eg: Keeper x 4 Players To date I have based all my trading strategies on the Keeper concept - if this is likely to not be the case we need to know ASAP
