  1. I must admit I didn't notice who took the kick-ins; I did notice that they were a hell of a lot better this week. In other games I have thought that the opposition would rather kick a point than a goal as they would get 7 points, not 1.
  2. What he actually said was that it is better than 50/50. He also said that he understood why things had gone a bit quiet on the affiliation front with the events of last week, but had been contacted by representatives of the new group. There is a long way to go, but there is no doubt that Casey's preference is for an affiliation.
  3. Casey know that we cannot afford to run our own seconds; they know that we must form an alliance. They are just playing hard to get.
  4. Yes, he was quite promising, especially early. After half-time the game degenerated into a kick-to-kick between the half-back lines. Zomer is very raw, but he has the physical attributes; the future is up to him.
  5. I remember at least two times when we took quick kick-ins against the filth and the maggots told us to take them again for some unknown reason; perhaps they were just unnerved as they had never seen us do it before.
  6. I don't think the seconds are playing as they played, and beat, the Casey seconds before last week's game against the Filth; the Filth do not have a seconds team.
  7. Maric will be seriosly good, but, if you've seen him in the flesh now, and you think that he is ready for AFL, then you must think that Cale Morton is built like Captain Beefcake. He needs a couple of pre-seasons.
  8. I didn't think that Buckley's work was all that special, but, he has too much class to be left languishing at Sandy, his cruising speed is faster than most bloke's tops at that level.
  9. I got there just as the last quarter started; I assume that Pettard only played a half or three-quarters as the first time I saw him was when they were all shaking hands at the end of the game.
  10. My kids and I have seats in the reserved area, M14, in the southern stand. When demand is high, I don't have a problem with the club, or MCC, selling the many seats that have not been sold to MFC members.
  11. I heard from Saunts himself yesterday that he has had 17 screws inserted in his wrist/hand. In a Pythonesque moment he said he was playing next week.
  12. Moloney dislocated his shoulder, apparently they had a lot of trouble getting it back in; would have to be very doubtful for next week.
  13. Rivers, Bode, Morton In Frawley, Robertson, Buckley Out
  14. They had a survey that they sent out to members asking them what they wanted in the away jumper. The survey was a crock in that they gave you a set of horrible choices that led you to selecting the only colour that was in anyway liveable with - silver. I got another survey from them last night and they are up to their old tricks again; they give you three options, none of which you want, and you cannot proceed until you select one. They will then come out with their platitudes that say the outcomes that they give us are a result of member feedback.
  15. Morton is still growing, he will develop in to a fantastic, big, footballer. To play at this level with the body he has now shows how good he will be when he fills out. I would still take him over Palmer in a heartbeat, and , yes, I do think Plamer is a gun.
  16. Cheney has played a few games in Sandy's 1s, McNamara is still only 17.
  17. I know I'm in the minority, but, Sundays suit me perfectly. I play tennis on Saturday.
  18. Jimmy in M14. I was down near the fence, he was at the back of the first section of seats.
  19. Interesting; Zomer, Spencer, Cheney and Monaghan have all been named in Sandy's reserve's starting 18. Equally, Buckley, CJ and Yze are named in Sandy's starting 18. Doe this leave us with a bench of Bode, Holland, Frawley and Valenti and Sandy with a bench of Gilchrist, M. Johnston, Meeson and Plymin?
  20. 'kin brilliant!!!!
  21. I think that you will find that the club can nominate which rookie goes back when Grimes come good. Note that the club did not promote Valenti until they were pretty positive that Nietz would not play again, thus preserving a permanent place for Wonaeamirri.
  22. Chris Johnson
  23. Promising debut, nothing to make you sit up and take notice, but good none the less.
  24. The Brisbane data is far too limited to make up a statistically reasonable sample. 15:7 over 10 years is approximately 2 games played for every one missed. Played 7, missed 1 at Brisbane bucks his career trend, but, he just has to miss a couple more to get him back on track. The continuing myth about TJ is alive and well. I heard Dwaayynnee talking about TJ's posseions against Carlton and how they were all "lace out", jeez, I only watched about a quarter of the game and saw about 5 that missed their mark entirely.
  25. CJ was BOG and kicked 2 goals.
