  1. Yeah. I’m looking at the ridiculous nature of the whole thing. I am resigned to us having zero input into what happens, so we have to roll with it. The fact is that shifting from 2-3 has a bigger impact than any other move, and the size of that move is that of a second rounder. I am not taking it personally, just looking at the AFL-ness of the whole thing....
  2. We lose about 500 points if we are forced to move down from 2-3. That is a second rounder. If they get 2, we should get 21 behind our 20! (Won’t happen....)
  3. Hi Peter Bell!
  4. It was a comment on the bottom of an article on Ah Chee. Can’t seem to locate it again. I hope the head of agreement is true (and at least we are back on topic....). If I can find it, I will post a link.....
  5. Hmm.. back on topic.... Ed has come out and said ‘Victoria, not necessarily Demons’....
  6. The article says he is one we should NOT take...
  7. I think we should leave him to the doggies. I think we have a better option in Petty, just needs development. There is a difference between making enquiries (due diligence) and actually getting the cheque book out. The first is smart, the second is stupid! If it was for a 4th rounder or a pick swap in the third round, then no biggie. The Crows will want a 2nd, for sure.
  8. Could we do something seriously crazy like split 2/3 for 4 second rounders - then use these for the trades we are linked to? Or even one first rounder and 2 second rounders? We are holding real currency, and if we trade it out for lower picks then our highest pick is what we can trade for Langdon, etc?
  9. They can feel what they like. ATM, how many of these ‘young guns’ are even earning (deserving of) the AFL minimum? Prove that you are worth it, I say. If we have to bring in expensive talent to make them look good, it should come out of their pockets. If they are good enough, we dont have to pay overs to get talent in.
  10. Thanks Drunkn, and all the best to Dec with thanks for making his blood sweat and tears Red and Blue ones. Appreciated the insight from the family perspective. Go well.
  11. Saw this. Start of the parade?
  12. Fishing trip. Throw out the bait and see what bites. We can assess the offers and go from there- see how badly others want to move up. we have no fs or academy players we want to split a high draft pick for, so we could look for player plus pick, or picks. Going on points system, we could get Langdon plus Freo first rounder and change. We have quite well with these approaches before - moving up or down to get what we want - so hopefully we can make the most of it again
  13. So there has not been one credible source for this. Not one newspaper line or ‘rumour’. Suggest this is tail chasing as self soothing butt hole licking.
  14. A poor man’s Charlie Spargo is...Charlie Spargo...
  15. Hi Nev, so are you suggesting there is either a) specific unrest, or b) general unrest ? I get the sense that you are hearing things - do you have a level of concern about us losing significant talent due to internal stuff?
  16. If Petracca asks for a trade to the Cats, we should get whatever they harvest for Kelly. CP5 will be in the top 5 of the best and fairest this year. His ability to win ground balls is impressive, and he is only at the start of a great career. If he wants to go, he is under contract and the trade would need to be suitable. However, I hope we are into heaps of players, too.
  17. As always, the decision should be made on a number of criteria: Is he up for the task that we want him for (goal scoring/pressure forward) Do we have other or better options for that role? Is he value for money? So at the moment it is (?/no), (?/no), so the final question doesn’t need to be answered. If we can sign Tippa, or find another option in the draft, then I reckon he is gone. If not, then he might get another year. .
  18. All club commitments will be completed by Wednesday. Exit interviews etc completed by then. Suspect we will hear about ‘retirements’ early, delistings after this. Suspect there might be a few held over in case of trade value etc. I think be Wednesday we will have a first idea of how big the blood letting will be... Question: Is there a ‘surprise untouchable’ that will go on the market? ie, Watts, Hogan?
  19. So has Jones signed up for another year?
  20. Wow, that so sums up our year. We had moments. What I found interesting (read frustrating), was that most players had good moments, and then had absolute crap ones. Lever - marks it and pumps it out on the full, twice. Jones - delivers into 50 beautifully, and then does that rancid kick out that costs us the goal. Angus - does some great things, then some [censored]. Only Maxy and Fritsch can hold their heads high, for a full game effort. ANB hitting the post was so us 2019.
  21. That blind handball [censored] to no one has to stop
  22. Because he lasted about 1 quarter, he drops marks and is not agile. Hopefully the off season can start to change this.
  23. Game day or shame day? Will watch on the afl app.
  24. I think it is a great get. I am intrigued that the role is not released, and that suggests that there is a fair bit still to play out with internal structures and perhaps other signings. I look forward to finding out which other fish we ‘catch’ after the season is done. I hope when the players walk into the club after their break, the whole place is different. Like they have been traded to a professional, even successful organisation. I hope any ‘complacency’ I have been reading about has well and truly been flushed out of the system, and we can set a course for considerably better next year.
