  1. The numbers are still interesting, always love your work Rusty.
  2. I think it’s lions not doggies Rusty....
  3. Commentators making a fuss about Sparrow being in trouble for a hit on Rich. my take: Sparrow turns his body to block Rich from the contest, not bump him directly (a la Hipwood on Max in the first). Rich flops for the free and gets it. I doubt there was a) intent b) contact in the incident. Later, Rich flops for a head high free in the forward pocket in the last. Example of how he plays for frees. no case to answer. Zorko, on the other hand, lunges at TMac with an elbow. Intent and contact are clear. Impact is low-medium (thanks to TMAcs chiselled jaw). Suspension.
  4. What are they saying now?
  5. No player on the ground got 30 touches or more. Is that a first for any game this season? Shows the bipolar nature of the game- each side dominated for a half. We stuck to them better when we were down, and cut through them better when we were on. their talls looked so dangerous early, and went completely AWOL later. In the pregame thread my barometer for this match was contested marks. It held true- smashed in this in the first half (and all other stats), much improved in the second. Brisvegas, more than most teams, have to be stopped getting contested marks. thought they came out to play dirty, too. Hits on Max , holding Trac in each contest, Zorko hit on MacDonald, etc. we don’t get sucked in,which is great.
  6. What a spud he is. Sale gets legged - htb. ‘Brilliant tackle’. Same thing happens to dickinher later on - big fuss about being legged, no htb! So many times his bias leaks through, always ready to talk us down and talk himself up,
  7. So hip wood and Daniher went missing, should they be dropped? Thought Sam did better tonight (apart from his kicking). Clunked some marks, made good position (gave that front and centre goal to Kozzi) led solidly. Keeps his place for mine. If he finds his kicking boots there is 4-5 goals in him per game.
  8. I think whoever wins the contested marks wins the game. Two cracking sides going at it. If we win the contested marks/ stop them taking them we get it done.
  9. And isn’t he having a jolly time of it right now?
  10. How many came straight back? The kick out seems to be doing ok. If we mark it or win the contest we are away, otherwise we lock it in. The open side has less players to do this, and the chance of interception and return are higher.
  11. Hawks are abysmal
  12. Not Oliver’s elbow.....
  13. Surprised by Langdon’s poor result. Was far less visible in this game, even if he covered mountains of distance in the game. Injury late would have had little impact on the score. oliver is unbelievablely good.
  14. Cloaca....only on a MFC fan site!
  15. Not one game can impact our ladder position!
  16. Max also gets smashed by opposition teams. Blocked, held and scragged at every contest, without any protection from the maggots. Once last night he got the first touch in a marking contest, his opponent simply grabbed him on both shoulders from behind and dumped him backwards. No free. max is superb, and I love the big fella
  17. Weids did better when we stopped having 3 Dees fly for the same ball. Kicked more goals than Naughton did. Langers is a beast and hard to replace - his kms covered are massive, he has great separation speed and is our path to many forward thrusts. Like for dislike probably Baker. Otherwise, no change.
  18. Changing of the guard? https://www.google.com.au/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=&ved=2ahUKEwii6KCSr-3wAhU__3MBHdDXBwQQwqsBMAJ6BAgJEAE&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DOj_cP2Y5aos&usg=AOvVaw0x_QvmL9Cv4kOh14pRKPJw Flat track bullies now shown up...
  19. Held them to 2 goals per quarter. Brilliant
  20. This game will be won if we halve the midfield and slow them down. We need to have the ball halved in contests and the defence able to set up. Bruce and naughton work well with fast delivery. If we stop this it goes a long way to us winning. can see us winning if we blow the pressure gauges out of sight. If we play like last week, we will get cut open badly. we can win, and if they grunt it will be a 25 point win.
  21. Marvel now a contact site...
  22. I see the MSD as having value in 3 dimensions: 1: immediate top up with state league player to fill a specific hole - ie, ruck for GC. 2: grabbing talent that you were unsure about at the previous year’s drafts, but has has 6 months to prove their wares. This includes that you dont want to risk them getting to the full draft. 3: a surprise talent emerges through the state leagues worth adding to the list Players in the MSD are not likely to be match ready until the end of August (unless case 1 is desperate), so either they do a marlon Pickett or develop for next year inside the club.
  23. More resemblance to current squad than the game last year - Preuss in the ruck? It also represented an attempt to use the new game style against them (ineffective).
  24. We won’t win one soon because it is May. Grand Finals are decided usually in September.
