$51 was available for me and I didn't have a massive go. I tried to put a bet on and the screen sat there thinking for ages and they eventually let me have $20 on it and wouldn't allow the rest of the bet. Then I noticed the odds had been adjusted.

not anymore. I tried for the $51 and they wouldn't take my bet and then moved him in to $15.

Does anyone else think Oliver is really good value at $34 for most brownlow votes of any Melbourne player? Max Gawn and Viney obvious dangers but $34 seems pretty good to me?

I'll be doing the same when I come across them. A bit like how I don't stop at traffic lights if I lived in or spent a lot of time in the suburb before they were there. It hasn't failed me yet.

Diesel had a handball from inside to outside that never missed. It wasn't the team objective to do it back then. He just got it and did it. He was the cleanest in an era handbills weren't as essential to team plans. Oliver is better at it than Diesel but it is more common now and all teams have an instruction to do it. I see Oliver more like Voss than Diesel. I guess they all have the same quality they always get the ball first. Oliver and Voss just have bigger frames.

I'm not going to derail this thread so will only comment on this once and won't respond. i am not privy to the structure of the Essendon football club. But I doubt very much Hird, a coach who had no previous coaching experience was the head of every department and responsible for all their practises within the club. Hird claims he agreed to a cutting edge programme within the rules. All the players signed a waiver that clearly stated the programme must be within WADA rules and not detrimental to any players health. Hird could have handled it better but I truly think he his a pawn that the AFL needed to hang everything on. Particularly, after he wouldn't cop the slap on the wrist they were offering. The Government at the time were calling it "the blackest day in Australian sport" well before there was any evidence. The AFL stood side by side with the Government in the press conference. At that stage it was political. Someone was always going to hang. Essendon could have cheated much more than any of us know. There are no records so how can we tell? The fact they have no records cannot be Hird's fault alone. Every piece of electronically stored and transferred data has a record. The fact this cannot be found suggests to me that it is much bigger than just being hidden on James Hird's laptop. This to me is the key. Again without being privy to the structures within the club I doubt Goodwin is responsible to oversee the integrity of Missions work at Melbourne. The fact Bomber Thompson got these people to the club while director of coaching and yet seems unscathed suggests to me Hird is a scapegoat. There are so still so many questions and yet so little answers I just think Hird is the fall guy.

I still think Hird is a scapegoat (not blame free) in this sorry saga but he has handled it the worst of any involved. Regardless he needs to move on with his life and I wish him and family all the best.

There was a lot to like about Joel Smith yesterday but... He kicks like Cameron Bruce used to. Lots of helicopters and leg breaks. No drop punts.

Currie cemented his spot as number 1 ruckman at gold coast this year until he broke his hand in 3 different incidents and 3 different spots. Two of the breaks required surgery to repair. Before that he was behind Goldstein in the sub era where teams stopped playing a backup ruck.

Hopefully 3 time premiership player Jack Viney does an apprenticeship somewhere else before he continues the chain and leads us to further glory.

Brayshaw was playing pretty good footy up until he got injured. The 2nd quarter against Collingwood on Queens Birthday was something to behold. if Oliver has a better debut year it is exciting times for Demon fans.

I hate Parish because he plays for Essendon. I also hated Ben Kennedy up until last years trade period because he played for Collingwood.

Hopefully nab 3. He could be just building...
