  1. Comrade YM. Two points. While I very much enjoyed your post, I don't like Garland at FF: he doesn't have the "bearing" of a forward to me. Moreover, a prophet is not accepted in his own hometown. There is another amphitheatre where your talents are very much in demand - and nor are you forgotten. When will there be a Third Coming? 2. Comrades, the older I get, the more I soften towards Collingwood - they are who they are - and the more I hate those degenerate, lying, criminal cheats at Princess Park.
  3. Comrades. I just wanted to pass on my best wishes to the Ridley family on the passing of Ian. Tiger bled for the club on the field. While I was busy yelling at him in 1996, his love for the club was never in doubt. when my uncle started to play for the club in the early 1970s, Tiger was the coach - one day my uncle accidentally knocked him out at practice and my god, for such a big fella (ruckman) he was terrified of him!!!! He took off on the spot and stayed away for a few days. Rest in peace Tiger. Biffinator PS - with his death there is one less Melbourne premiership player in the world. Will that number ever be topped up?
  4. Thanks M2W. It will be interesting to see if poor old CoffeeChill puts his head above the trench another time. Mind you, plenty of other Melbourne posters were applying Rule 303 to the [censored], not least Whelan=Legend. Say what you like about him, when Yze Magic is in form there is none better in the business. The Flogs - and particularly the Carlton Flogs - just loathe him: this is a measure of his success. I only wish he had been around when we started the Carlton Information Kiosk - thankfully some other MFC and non-MFC posters were at hand to assist. B
  5. YM, thanks for passing on this intell. Ignore the sheep who say otherwise - they can stick with the Herald Sun's analysis. If nothing else, such rumours make us think about the value of players on the current list. I hope it comes true. Moreover, if people don't want to read the threads that you initiate, well, why don't they direct their energies elsewhere unless they get some sort of strange kick by calling you a [censored]. 6. Bobby - thanks for the mention. While I visit the site everyday, I rarely post as there are people here who know far more about football than what I do. For what little I am worth, I am a Bay 13 Gladiator. I believe this is also true of Yze Magic, though I am still trying to work out what nom de guerre he is using in his battle against the heathen. At his best he is a supreme troll. IMO, the one unmissable thread every week is JB's 3 word analysis and the subsequent responses. Biffinator
  7. Comrades. I cried at the end of the 87 Prelim I cried for joy at the end of the 88 Preliim. For the third time in my life, tears came to my eyes when Wonna got the ball in the last ten seconds and started to run toward goal with an acre in front of him. It was a religious experience. My eyes have seen the coming of the glory of the Lord !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Biffinator
  8. it says a lot about our club that the following worthy players are included in the Top 150: Peter Rhode Stephen Newport Paul Hopgood Biffinator
  9. Well, my seven year old enjoyed sitting with the Cheer Squad, and that was about it. I have always had the view that if you are of AFL Standard and you are in the clear at the 50 metre line or have taken a mark at the same distance, then have a shot at goal. There should be a little bit of KB in all of us. White to Morton, and the CJ debacle made me swallow my tongue. In all my years of suffering at the hands of the MFC I have never such a monumental failure of judgement (re CJ). What is wrong with these guys???? Have a shot at goal !!!! Biffinator
  10. PJ took that mark 55 metres out and he should have had a shot in the first quarter. Yze ran past, called for the ball, received it, and then kicked a wobbly shocker into the forward line. that for me sums up the latter part of his career. I do not want to see him in a MFC jumper for the rest of the year. Biffinator
  11. PJ was a positive in every way. White desperately needs to reinvent himself. Bring on Meeson. Biffinator
  12. I will be there too with the kids, but it will be the Hawks by 70 points. Just check out their forward line. Strewth. Biffinator
  13. Yze Magic - stand by the Dees. I have little hope for 2008. But I have signed up myself and the two kids. Perhaps you can signal your disgust by changing your name. Dispense with the Yze part. If you are looking for some fun this year, join me on Bay 13 !!!! Biffinator
  14. YM, sadly - and what a word it is - you are right. 2008 with BB in his first year resonates in my mind as another 81 with RDB. I can't see how we are readily going to kick 12 goals a game, let alone 15. Geelong showed last year that the Premiership is first won in the head, then on the ground. This has been our weakness as long as I can remember it, sadly typified by Round 19 and beyond in 2004. Biffinator.
  15. Yes indeed, Rest in Peace. And sadly, we are running out of Premiership Players. Will they ever be topped up in our lifetime? Biffinator.
  16. Never under-estimate the innate stupidity of the Richmond Recruiters. Biffinator.
  17. Well what else is there to do in West Hosham? Hang around the Mitsubishi Factory? Visit Snowtown? Sell home-brew kits to Port supporters? I know he is a Judas, but ease off on the guy !!! Biffinator
  18. Old55, sadly, I suspect the only medals that Sampi will pick up are from Colonel Sanders. Biffinator.
  19. Comrades, the guy with the Mohawk clearly falls to this category. Biffinator
  20. Well, worst case scenario, he might end up at Freo with Bobba and Bubba as his team mates Biffinator
  21. As a matter of interest, what did we get for Thommo? Was it Beamer? perhaps it is payback time if we got zippo Biffinator
  22. yes, this is offensive and should be deleted at once. Moreover, Moderators, I suggest that the Sin-Bin is warranted as well. Biffinator
  23. Diablo, a very good response. Looking back to the 97 Draft, I wished at the time that we had taken Ottens rather than TJ, on the premise that it is better to take a talented big man than an equivalent midfielder. Would it have changed the result in 98 or 00? I don't know. Biffinator
