  1. i'll go: match-winner vs saints gather and kick vs gw$ three efforts then goal vs north
  2. macrae is totes winning now like everyone it's hard to imagine the maggots going past neale as a regular 3-voter, and trac should canter away with our votes i would love to see him or boak get it, but it'd be hard to begrudge neale - had an incredible year
  3. i think we can all agree that the afl is the most professionally run sporting organisation in oztraya? certainly the most successful
  4. well obviously not robbie flower; he only won one bluey truscott trophies, so he must've been hopeless to have not claimed that many despite playing in a perennially atrocious side...goes to show what a fallacy b&f placings are, really i don't think the dees have, over the last 40-50 years going back to the mid-80s, had that many outstanding mids at all oliver is an absolute a-grader in my view trac definitely has the potential to challenge him, but for oliver to be so consistently outstanding from day dot has been so exciting to watch
  5. yes, he would be a good get it's pretty rare for interstate kids to go from one vic club to another tho? most tend to go 'home' - the one exception i can think of off the top of my head is james aish, the sa boy who was recruited by the bears, was desperate to go to the filth, and then was shipped to freo last year
  6. faang companies have no interest in paying to telecast a small fry domestic competition there was a study done not too long ago that showed that the cost of running the two northern franchises was greater than the uplift of the 9th telecast match but, as others have said, it's all about capturing 'hearts and minds' (and private schools) and converting them to afl supporters over the course of the next couple of generations, not an immediate move to drive viewership, attendance, etc. afl is playing the long game, at least in theory
  7. thought that was an awesome game to watch
  8. carn the pear
  9. this zerrett and pick 6 would be an extraordinary offer on the flipside, clayton is the best mid i've ever seen in my time following the dees since the mid 80s lyon's comments are interesting
  10. hopefully he gets the help he needs
  11. hopefully shaw gets the help he needs media already speculating he ain't coming back
  12. filth-supporting mate reckons his contract is heavily backended and there's no way the pies can accommodate given big deals for grundy, moore, de goey, etc.
  13. be funny if he went to the tigers after what he said during the recruitment process to land at the pies can't see him being anywhere other than at the filth in 2021 but stranger things have happened...
  14. they got the irits when travis boak didn't leave the pear to come 'home' to them too
  15. less punchy, presumably
  16. i have always heard that the afl hierarchy was more focused on expansion rather than contraction i personally can't see the new northern franchises disappearing, which means it's the small vic clubs which are under pressure: north, saints, footscray, and us are the obvious low hanging fruit fingers crossed we survive any impending cull
  17. tom morris reckons that the hawks are 2 years plus a trigger for a third, whereas ours is a straight up three year offer - although i thought there was some speculation that third year was a combo of playing / coaching
  18. love nev is he in our best 22? i doubt whether he'd be in the filth's best 22?
  19. yeah, if those happen i will be highly impressed by the afl's predictive powers
  20. quite the contrary, i think - gus believes he's an a-grader and doesn't need to do the hard work to remain at that status
  21. Did he have a Goodwin?
