  8. last session before festive break, i presume - i know burgess always used to do a 'surprise' to the training session to give the players one last challenge; anything like that done by the current fitness regime? this report is full froth mode in terms of how eager i am for footy season 2023 to begin
  9. it's not a draw; it's a fixture

  12. this personally i think he's such a unique talent that he IS up to it - he is so young and shows such a versatility of skills still hate that he walked out
  13. sydney swans fans are mental and they regularly pack out the scg
  14. mckay, larkey, zuhaar, goldstein, ldu is a decent experienced five, and i really rate simpkin they have little quality depth
  15. i think the gap week robbed us of momentum heading into finals and then we were clearly walking wounded in the semi it was a shocking end to the season, but we achieved the main goal of being top four - indeed, top two - at the end of the home and away everything that could go wrong in the two finals did go wrong
  16. ideally, yes altho as seen the week off btw home & away and finals changes things and home ground advantage means little
  17. top four at the end of the home and away for mine anything can happen in finals
  18. there is no way anb will not be in our best 22 add jj to the 'best 23' as it is now and i reckon you've got it more or less spot on expecting jvr to challenge sideshow bob for starting key forward role

  22. carlton look set to have 10 night games?!??
  23. personally, would be surprised if he's in their starting 23 if they can teach him to kick - something that not even choc could fix - he'll be a more than handy player cos his workrate and running is excellent
  24. questions for jason: how has covid affected the talent pool coming through, particularly in victoria, with two years of lack of exposed form across 2020 and 2021 in particular? every year the media narrative seems to be 'next year is a bumper draft for talls / mids / talent' etc. - do you actually see a difference in draft classes over the course of your time as a recruiter? how far out from draft years do you start assessing junior careers? i.e. under-13s or earlier? how do you assess our future father-sons (and father-daughters, mother-sons, and mother-daughters) that will be emerging over the next period of time? with the expansion of aflw, do you have any visibility of future recruiting pathways for aflw as well as aflm, or do you solely focus on the men's game?
  25. technically, it was scheduled to be released 'exclusively' by the sunday herald-sun - they'd been promoting that earlier in the week before oztraya vs argentina was even a possibility i'll also run the counterview - i think it's smart cross-marketing to release just as kick off was happening with so many sports afficionados up and watching the soccer this morning; makes sense to capture captive eyeballs
