it's a disaster for them if he stays zerrett and ellen don't work particularly well together, and their next emerging mids - see tstatas - are also very small they've already got mids playing half-back (mcgrath) or vfl (shiel) who are also on the smaller side it'll click occasionally, but they're all ball-hunters and none of em work hard enough defensively nor - with the possible exception of zerrett - have the footskills to be damaging with the ball in hand i heard a good comparison the other day, that flagmantle with serong and andy brayshaw are at risk of having their best two mids being the equivalent of zerrett and ellen - really good players who just don't do enough damage and are too small to compete against the bigger bodies that command most powerhouse midfields in modern football

tomlinson needs an oppo forwarded line to select at least one, preferably two lumbering forwards in order for him to have a match-up turner is a much better option for first the bloods tomorrow and then the filth next week - they play mobile, athletic mid-talls and smalls, not slow coaches

plugger mac as the sub? i think our 'final side' will actually come down to other results over the weekend
-
cos he wants to be traded to gc17 or the bears tigs not risking him knackering his calf in a meaningless game before they evaluate trade options i'm amazed north are playing mckay
-
are you for real? figjam was bog ordinary at the filth, and that's his only coaching experience other than 2018, he took them backwards every year

hulett stumped me -
Every chance some other club could gazzump that If - when - we win the premiership and Flagmantle finish 13th that’ll be 18, 23, 36 and less than 300 points over the value of pick 4

the swans fans i know are, mostly, old school 'bloods' who stuck with their team after they headed north their hardcore fans are as passionate about footy as we are -
i am an unabashed milkshake fan after being an avowed hater when we recruited him that semi-final wheel and goal may be my third favourite goal that i've seen in person after the kozi miracle against carlton (which melksham delivered to him) and the goal to beat the bears a few weeks back great interview andy

2023 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
whatwhat say what replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
i'm going to go slightly against this... whoever we pick with our first pick this year i expect to be part of our starting side we've not had the opportunity to inject high-end talent since dog, koz, and rivers at the end of 2019 - all were regulars in 2020 and premiership players the year after be it duursma, mckercher, sanders, watson, or another, i'm expecting we'll be bringing in a 'ready-made' player at the pointy end of this year's draft who by natural talent will become a part of the side immediately -

2 weeks in a row sides get done by the Goal Umps

don't forget, afl sells broadcast rights, broadcast provider (currently foxtel and ch7) pays for cameras and vision provision from external agency (nep) from my understanding, the broadcasters only pay for hd quality cameras, not even 4k let alone 8k afaik, it's never been mandated in the broadcast rights agreement the quality of cameras i believe there's a minimum camera requirement at each game at a fully accredited venue (22, from memory?) but that c7 usually have more cameras active at all times -
trade talk for end of 2023 started at the end of the 2021 season

it totally does! this #faketweet has got all the crom a-flutter -
add sydney three keen this year vs one this year his value will be about the same i think - second round pick, and his new team pays him full weight of the contract
-
his training standards are elite, from all reports if they bring in mathieson and robertson, i would expect both would be fitter than nearly every other midfielder on their list
