  1. Of course they have but you just have to hope they it sorted. As much as i would like to think it should all have been worked out/ discussed awhile ago now that the media is going made for trade month and the draft it raises all the speculation again. Its a MASSIVE difference to how good we are next year. We could effectively insert pick 3,4 and Viney into our midfield and notice an immediate change with so much upside.
  2. Well i dont really have proof because i dont work as a recruiter or in this industry but surely you must beleive that sometimes things happen behind closed doors and then deals get done. One example i can think of off the top of my head not quite to this extent was the Luke Ball St Kilda/Cwood saga. While he ended up at Collingwood in the end if Melbourne or another club felt like picking him up earlier in the draft then they could have pretty easily (We had 4 picks in the top 20). He had already declared by this stage that he didnt want to go to Melbourne and put the price tag he wanted on his head hoping C'Wood would pick him. Collingwood would hope that we would do the right thing by them and let him slip through along with a few other teams and thats the way it ended up. Your naive if you think teams arent discussing this JV fiasco at the moment working out how to make the situation work out best for them and who they need to contact to get the best outcome.
  3. This sort of stuff goes on all the time. As long as its all done discretely then i dont think it would be that hard to work out a deal.
  4. Ok so what they need to do is stop p**s farting around and contact GC to work this thing out Heres a hypothetical - Melb - Look we are taking Viney and we really dont want you to bid so lets help each other out. GC - How can you help us? Melb - Well Caddy is leaving and we will end up with a much better offer than your gonna get elsewhere say pick 13? Geelong etc wont be able to offer you that. GC - I'm listening... Melb - Ok heck we will throw in a Petterd as well GC - Ok deal we wont bid Simple everyone wins GC get better renumeration for Caddy, we get Viney at 26 and everyone is happy!
  5. Over on big footy they have just posted that Q Stick is set to join the dees on a 2 year contract 360k a year. How much substance to the rumour is anyones guess but apparently they have gone with it on Perth radio
  6. From what i saw of Wellingham during the finals he isnt worth 500-600k guys... In a bad team he is no better than a Jones or Sylvia lets be honest and i would prefer if the club went after Goldsack who could really be a steal if we could nab him. If we get Sharrod as well fine but lets not trade heaven and earth for him he has a big name because he plays for Collingwood not because he is the next Gary Ablett Junior.
  7. seriously though how good is Clark lol - as optimistic as i was i dont think i can beleive how good he is so far
  8. I like it except he wants to go live in Queensland lol - worth a shot luring him with the cash though! - could get him here with 12 + compo i would have thought then pay him $500+ just like Clark
  9. Wasnt everyone saying yesterday 12 was enough to get the deal done if he wanted to come here? 16 & 20 is probably as good as 12 surely - its a pick four down the queue + pick 20
  10. i actually think he has talent not that it matters now but he has a booming 50m kick and the thing that has been keeping him out of the team is his motor and workrate which could both be fixed under a Neeld/Misson new regime. Bailey always struggled to get our players up and running and thats what it is sounding like we will be getting better at from now on with Misson/Craig/Neeld operating. There's no way he is on the verge of being delisted, he is more important to hold onto than say Warnock for example who will just never cut it in our best side. There was still hope Maric could i think anyway.
  11. is he contracted just out of interest? if not then he can simply walk and they will pick him up in the PSD! - 3rd round seems like we are getting shafted what did we select him at again?
  12. IN Trenners , Maric OUT PJ and Jurrah I would love to see us smash the Tiges and to do that they need to go with the psycho tackling gameplan with non stop pressure in our forwardline - Trenners and Maric will provide that We can make do with just Jamar and some pinch hitting from Dunn for 25%
  13. A worry is Jurrah and Wonna both together in the forward line - the good is amazing and the bad can be horrible they play in spurts and i think we missed Trenners down there tonight Also dont flame me down but should J-Mac be in the 1's anymore?
  14. 2002 SF Trav Johnstone show one of his finest games
  15. Its been going for like 8 minutes and i am ready to break the pc headset lol
  16. hehe thanks for all the replies guys! lock me in eddie for the dvd im happy to cover costs thanks!
  17. nah what i meant was Robbie is the only Melb player i have never heard talked about as if he was no good. It seems even a collingwood supporter would speak of him as a true champion of the game. Of course players like Voss and Hird are in the same ilk just talking about Melbourne players though
  18. actually i have to agree with you on the comment about being the only player that always received respect from the opposition. Ive never heard anyone say he was no good or even overrated etc.
  19. Hey all, being in my early 20's i have little recollection of the great Robbie Flower other than a faint memory of him single-handedly bringing us back from the dead against the doggies to make the finals. How good was he? is there some sort of equivalent to a player that is playing these days? Was he a genuine superstar of the competition back then like your Hird,Voss & Buckleys? Anyone got any stories about great games he played or great goals?
