  1. What the f.... that is crazy, Tony Jaa type craziness. Cro Cop tried that once but the octagon flipped over.
  2. "Sure is" said one MFCSS sufferer to the other.
  3. If he has a bad season it'll have SFA to do with the leg injury he copped late in the season. It was a minor fracture and he'll complete pretty much a full preseason, let's not get overly dramatic. And hrob, you might want to sharpen your own tool before you talk about others.
  4. Or Facebook, or Demonland, or the newspaper, or a coach and teammates that let them know they're blitzing it...
  5. Yeah, don't want a Van Den Berg captain. But good on him getting into the leadership group. More I think about it the more I'd like Davey to get the captaincy. I agree with the thoughts that this next skipper is really just filling time until a true leader emerges from the young guns. I think Davey has ironed out the Yze in him and puts his body on the line when he has to now, so that's not really an issue for me. He seems to really want it, he's spoken about as a leader, and I think he has it in him to take another step up when the team needs someone to do something. The media side I'm not sure of, nor do I really care. Green will be Green whether he's captain or not. More upside in giving it to Davey.
  6. It's good to know that Maric and Bennell are impressing on the track, it'll pump up their confidence knowing that they're training so well that it gets noticed. We need pacy, smaller forwards to help out / back up Wonaeamirri. Bennell has shown glimpses, needs consistency, Maric needs to earn his chance, and looks like he's doing that. Scully is no surprise.
  7. So did anyone go? I was going to take my little cousin (as a smoke screen for wanting my stuff signed) but couldn't make it in time.
  8. I've developed a groundbreaking scientific method that allows my ruckman - and every other player - to run all day without any fatigue. So don't worry about my ruck stocks Bob.
  9. Sylvia stands out like swollen bollocks. He's going to dominate this season, I can feel it.
  10. That one is excellent, whoever made it must be extremely awesome.
  11. DAFC B: S.Selwood(WCE) D.Merrett(Bris) C.Brown(GC) HB: B.Deledio(Rich) M.Scarlett(Geel) N.Malceski(Syd) C: N.Dal Santo(St.K) T.Boak(Port) C.Bateman(Haw) HF: D.Motlop(Port) L.Hansen(North) R.Petterd(Melb) F: H.Ballantyne(Freo) B.Hall(WB) C.Dawes(Coll) R: D.Hille(Ess) *C.Judd(Carl) B.Vince(Adel) *Captain Wildcard Pick 005 - Chris Judd Carlton Had to get a superstar early, and to get a Norm Smith medallist, 2 time Brownlow winner, 5 time B&F winner that has now dragged 2 teams across the line every other week, is an absolute bargain at 5. Enough said. Pick 016 - David Hille Essendon Realising early there was SFA I wanted at Essendon after Hille, I thought I'd secure him with my second pick. I rate him highly and Essendon don't win without him. Now that I've taken him, let's hope they never win again. Pick 025 - Matthew Scarlett Geelong Was always going to be my first choice KPD. Will go down as a legend of the game. The general of my backline controversially named at CHB. He's there to provide leadership, defence and rebound. If some shifty opposition coach wants to run him off his legs, he can simply swap with Merrett, Deledio or C.Brown. Pick 036 - Barry Hall Western Bulldogs Premiership forward, always up there in the Coleman medal, just had a very good season. He looked like a new man with the delivery he was getting at the dogs, just watch him kick 120 with the quality I've surrounded him with. Oh, and I will not hesitate in instructing him to kill any annoying defender. Pick 045 - Brett Deledio Richmond Always my first pick at Richmond. Extremely happy to get him at 45. Needed pace, size and quality delivery off half back, so he was really the only interest I had at Richmond. Can rotate through the middle. Pick 056 - Travis Boak Port Adelaide With the early theme being pick the gems from the piles O shyte, I believe I did it again here. Pace, ball winner, ball user, can lay a few tackles. Young and still on the up. Would shine even in my midfield. Pick 065 - Lachlan Hansen North Melbourne My youngest KPP, I thought I'd take a punt on him at CHF. Can also play CHB. Again there wasn't much at North that filled the positions I had pencilled (can't believe Zeibell wasn't taken though), and Lachie has shown me enough to suggest he'll be a very good KPP. Can also swap with Dawes if need be. Pick 076 - Daniel Merrett - Brisbane Needed another KPD, and I'm a fan of big Dan. Very quick for his huge frame, can play on quick medium/small forwards. Clarke would've been a good pick for CHF, but I think Hansen will be better, so I settled on filling KPD's with Merrett. Pick 085 - Nick Dal Santo St Kilda A bargain. Outside class that thrives in a good midfield. Was extremely happy to pick him up after securing Judd, Boak and Deledio. Pick 096 - Nick Malceski Sydney Would have been happy with Jack or Hannebury, went with Malceski because his rebound, pace and delivery off half back are what I really want. Bit of dash between he and Deledio. Pick 105 - Bernie Vince Adelaide Again, very happy to get him into my midfield. Wins the ball, he's tough, he kicks goals. Pick 116 - Campbell Brown Gold Coast Wasn't quite sure if he'd be taken, I wanted Harbrow, but of course he was an early pick. If someone did take C.Brown, I'd be left with a speculative pick. So I took a proven hard nut defender, often very good one at that. I think the fact that he's easy to hate makes people write him off a tad early, he'll have a good 2011. Pick 125 - Hayden Ballantyne - Fremantle With the cream of Fremantle licked up fast, this was a good pick considering my needs. Needed a small, annoying crumbing forward to feed off Baz and Hansen and HB fit the bill. Pick 136 - Chance Bateman Hawthorn More speed and delivery. Burgoyne was goyne so I took the bate, man, and took a chance on Bateman. (sorry) Pick 145 - Chris Dawes Collingwood Very nice late pick, good foil for Barry, if they're a car accident waiting to happen I hope one of your defenders is in the middle of it. I went with 2 big men on the FF line because Ballantyne and Motlop (assumed no one would take him) would be able to crumb, as well as Boak, Vince and Judd seizing any opportunities to rove one. Pick 156 - Ricky Petterd Melbourne Was very happy he was still around, I missed Sylvia, and Green, Petterd was my 3rd pick for the HFL. The Max Rooke of my premiership team. Already good and will get better. Dangerous in the air, goal assists and good defensive pressure. Pick 165 - Scott Selwood West Coast Rubbish. Pick 176 - Daniel Motlop Port Adelaide Wildcard. I'm a big fan, always have been. Gives me Xfactor up forward, does it on ground and in the air, as skilled as anyone. Summary. Backs The modern game requires speed and a good half back line. I drafted accordingly. You can argue that Scarlett doesn't have the motor for CHB, I'll argue that you're underrating a professional athlete. Plus there are options in Deledio, Merrett and Hansen. Scott Selwood is the obvious weakest link, but let's be real, it's the back pocket... Mids Speed, class, big possession getters, goal kickers. There's no real enforcer / annoying [censored] in there, but most of them get their own ball and they all know how to use it. A ruckman that uses his body well and uses the ball even better, also kicks goals. Forwards It's a nice mix of old and new, grunt and X factor. 2 talls that can lead or crash a pack. An annoying small that gets front and square and knows where the goals are. 2 flankers that are capable in the air and on the ground and can push up the ground or closer to goal. Overall I think it's a very well balanced team, speed and precision off half back and midfield extremely hard to shut down and too much scoring power for any of these other fools to handle.
  12. Even if he stayed and half the team left he wouldn't be captain. His leaving just proves he was never a leaders exit ring.
  13. In the coming season, I thought we could apply dreamteam or supercoach points to our teams each week. As we all seemed to have picked proper teams, by that I mean players in correct positions, not just possession accumulators, it'll give us some sort of fair, outside assessment for next year, and a bit of fun. The beauty is, no one has to do anything. No maintenance, it's a marathon with the team you have selected. Injuries, suspensions, byes, poor form... bad luck! You get the total of the players that played that week. Someone will need to add up the team totals and draw up the ladder, I'm happy to do that. I was thinking we could play each other twice. That's the first 18 rounds. Our finals start in round 19. Instead of a top 8 we have a top 6, the bottom 4 are out and laughed at. -Top 2 teams skip elimination finals and go straight through to the semi's. -(rnd 19) 3rd plays 5th, 4th plays 6th, winners advance. Losers are out. -(rnd20) In the semi's 2nd plays the highest ranked winner, 1st plays the lowest ranked winner. -(rnd21) Grand final. -Bragging rights. The league shall be called WNC (When Nerds Collide). If this idea gets the nod, we'll work out who'll draw up the fixture.
  14. Nasher is the one who is proficient in propheticness. A semi private convo we had a while ago where Nasher predicted much of what's going on in here.
  15. We're on the same page now. Hilarious!
  16. Would you all please stop trying to steal my players
  17. Not sure if he was on that, but probably. Only saw it once, thought if I watched it again I may actually die from laughter.
  18. And the guy from the Toyota ads that isn't Stephen Curry.
  19. I think you meant Silva vs Griffen, I thought the same thing, I think Daddy should change his name to Glassjaw. At least Forest had the excuse of being beat up before an Anderson Silva jab floored him. The Silva vs Leben fight is beautiful, I think I counted Silva landing 24 of 26 strikes. Leben landed... well, on the floor. I hate Danzig too, he won't kill a bug but he'll knock a fella unconscious on his kids birthday? Smoked far too many bongs growing up that guy. Riddell got owned I thought, Peirson was landing jabs all night. But I was hoping Riddell would land one of his bombs. Did you see when he broke that fellas jaw on the ultimate fighter? That was crazy. It didn't get fight of the night, the public got to vote, and the GSP fanboys voted for GSP v Kos. Dana wasn't happy, said the public won't get to vote again because they blew it. He said he'll take care of Riddell and Peirson because that was really FOTN.
  20. I sort of agree. I put Campbell Brown in there because he has a name and I needed a back hard backman. I'm a big fan of McKenzie from the GC but he wouldn't get a game in my midfield. I actually think C Brown is a more effective forward these days, but it'll do. Scott Selwood is rubbish, I was actually going to go with Ashton Hams who I like a bit, but as far as I'm aware he's still a rookie and I'd look a right Goose if he never got another senior gig. I like Merrett, highly underrated and most teams would like him in their back line. I couldn't really get key defenders out of my other teams, as I had my eye on other positions.
  21. Yes. You've never seen Scarlett streaming through the middle and delivering to just over half forward? Also I really wanted Merrett, but Scarlett was first choice. The theory goes that coaches want Scarlett played as far from goal as possible. Well my theory is if HT wants The Pav to drag Scarlett to the wing, I'm happy to have the Pav as far from goal as possible.
  22. Yeah, but because it's a lot like the original one, only new and shiny. Heaps of old player unlocks. Cool "remix" modes. But it's a game best played with mates. ...back to the thread...
  23. Sorry, was playing NBA Jam... Round 18 Pick 176 - Daniel Motlop - Port Adelaide B: S.Selwood D.Merrett C.Brown HB B.Deledio M.Scarlett N.Malceski C; N.Dal Santo T.Boak C.Bateman HF D.Motlop L.Hansen R.Petterd F: H.Ballantyne B.Hall C.Dawes R: D.Hille C.Judd B.Vince Happy with that. A lot of pace, ball winners and users, 3 proven KPP's and a bit of x factor up front. Players I really wanted but missed: Waters - biggest mistake Wanted Burgoyne for the wing Sylvia or Green for HFF But I got most of the team I pencilled in after rnd 5. I like my half back line.
  24. Damn. I can't go. It's my brothers engagement, of course. However I won't complain, they picked a date in between gigs I'm going to, the 127 was announced. Will have to wait for when it hits Melbourne.
