What a shame we've played this well and lost 2 games. Probably would've beaten at least 8 other teams on form. Chile won so we're officially not getting out of the group. Robben is the biggest vvanker, can't stand him.

I've said he has some of the best hands in close at the club for years. Showed great quick, attacking handballs when he started but was then pigeon holed as a pure tagged and lost being able to use his best weapon. Caught a few glimpses of it on Sunday. While I'm not a huge fan, and I'm not sure how long he'll hold a spot in our midfield, he's another player I'd love to see make it because of his attitude and physicality.

...because anything that is said on this message board is going to effect his life decisions in any way what so ever... I didn't know this was happening either. Great tribute to a great man. Thanks for the info and the pictures.

Has anyone mentioned the checkside pass Frawley kicked to Pedo in the 2nd quarter? Probably not... If Stevie J had done it the commentary would've been inaudible due to the amount of mangasm going on. In soccer terms, brilliant technique. -

This is a great post and holds very true for a lot of players. With Hurley though, his attack on the ball is nothing like it was (although perhaps a different approach required when playing in defence). And he was out-bodying men when he started. Now he just seems to be dominated for the most part. However your point is probably right, I probably noticed his wins more than his losses when he started. -

Actually when Hurley started he was a competitive beast. Dafuq happened? Couldn't be further from it anymore. -
Yeah. That was my point. It's easy to say someone might improve. Then when they don't they're moved on and no one bats an eyelid. Bennell is doing pretty well. I watch every game, I wouldn't comment on him if I didn't. But he's still unaccountable and doesn't go hard enough (is that better, PC brigade?). I'm filthy that his name has tarnished this Nev Jetta thread. May as well wonder what Roos could've done with Petterd and Addam Maric while we're at it.

Josh Fraser, Jared Oakley-Nicholls, Gysberts, Kane Tenace, Morton etc... Doesn't matter how many players fail after never improving their short comings, football fans will always hope that certain players do....

I did, all game. -
Bennell? Seriously. Unaccountable and will always be soft. Love his speed but his kicking is still hit and miss.

I need the US to get up for my multi, got Germany/Portugal and Nigeria/Iran right. A goal in 32 seconds was a good start. Could be my week.

How about this: Essendon's total first quarter scores from four MCG games this year: Essendon 17.15 117 Opposition 0.10 10 Yet they are still rubbish. -

There were a couple of efforts from Dawes I noticed on the replay that just show how valuable he is to a side winning, even if he's not marking and kicking goals. In the last quarter there was a chase in the middle of the ground where he caught and put enough pressure on some Bomber idiot to scrub the kick. Then at a centre bounce he came off the line and tackled Zaharakis to stop him getting yet another clean clearance. Little things like that aren't so little when it's the difference between winning and losing. Amazing efforts (week in week out) for a big man who had very little prep for this season. And I can't stop watching that final play that got us the winning goal. It's a dream sequence. Every single player involved did the right thing and half of them had a touch of pure brilliance. We haven't had a play like that in any game, so to pull it off at the most intense point of the season thus far is truly remarkable. If this game was on VHS the tracking lines would render it unwatchable by the end of the week. -

What is that? Is there a who can have the shortest ponytail competition going? Too many of those things going around. I guess trying to balance out the influx of manly beards. -
Wouldn't surprise me, some of his defensive efforts were outstanding. But the Doggies are more feel-good than we are, so Bontempelli will probably get it.

I don't think there'd be one supporter that isn't glad he's made it though. If everyone had his attitude and physicality...

Are you implying I've jumped on the bandwagon?

^and a decent run with no injuries. I get jealous when other people say he's their boy.
