Yup. Way too much structure. I mean FFS unleash Clarrie and Trac, Langers less effective cos we now go slow. All that makes our forwards ineffective. Look at the way the filth and swans smashed the ball forward from stoppage. Geelong did it with the mark to Rohan too.

And if we had our players might have been fresher and not faded out in games. It’s hard to say either way but Goodwin is stubborn in selection and game plan it’s a flaw, there is backing the players and plan and then there is blinkers on mode and he has blinkers on mode.

Our biggest problem is our game plan. A team like Sydney don’t allow the backs to make it a half ground press, they keep some honest along the half forward line meaning when the ball comes through the middle they have all the space and slice us up. Goodwin should have seen this 3 months ago but we have stuck with it, which is great when it works but when it doesn’t, nothing changed or ever does. Said this ages ago, we need a actual forwards coach that knows how to structure up a forward line, this kick to the pocket and hope for a re set is great… except it’s always to a 1 on 3 with zero crumbers around. I mean we didn’t even try to isolate Fritta or Trac or anyone deep last night, we just kept on keeping on. It will be enough to beat the Lions but we are about to get slaughtered in the Prelim.

Well that depends on how hard we will push them, and tbh I don’t think we will push that hard. We always say we are fair etc so will be interesting to see our stance on this.

Well no, lots of media crud about a first rounder etc but no way we accept just one first rounder even if pick one (which I know they will never get) so personally I think we will ask for a player and top 5 pick, prob end up with a player top 10 pick and a swap of later picks from both teams. I feel like it will be overly complicated and take a long time.

So I got t9 listen to most of the first qtr on radio before I had to leave. so I’ve read nothing, just got back to my Airbnb, today I’ve managed to explore more of Czechia, do glass blowing (making my own red and blue mug) and drink copious amounts of beer. I’m now sittin on my balcony, it raining, thiunder and lighting going off as I sit with a beer and a cigar and ready to plough into the musings on Demonland. Well it’s morning in Czechia, good thing beers are acceptable, well actually nearly mandatory with breakfast. Carn the Dees!

Last year we had a loading period, but it sure didn’t see to take this much out of the players or affect us this bad. Maybe we got it right last year and wrong this time? Maybe it was the same but we haven’t handled it well? It why it must be reviewed. It’s this guys first time in charge and we have been constantly over run by teams where last year we overran teams all year. The year you win the flag you should review the hardest to ensure you know why it clicked. Its easy to gloss over things when you win, I’d be really hoping Goodwin and the FD would be reviewing every section of the club thoroughly.

I hope we win, cos not finishing top 4 after 10-0 is poor. No matter what happens from. Here they must review the hell out of the “loading” period and make sure this [censored] is never repeated. Im hoping for some shake up at selection and a real edge, anything less and we get belted. We go in with a tough ferocious attitude and kick semi straight we win.
