Harley Balic is settling in nicely
I heard from a very reliable source that both Christians (P & S) were told at their end of season reviews to prepare for next season as midfielders. Based on the training reports this appears to have been confirmed.

Jack Trengove signed by Port Adelaide as a Delisted Free Agent
His girlfriend lives locally, on the peninsula. Could influence his decision.

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
Brings genuine appetite for the contest in the same mold as: Petracca, Viney, Oliver, Hogan. IMO he is an absolute star in the making.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - HARLEY BALIC
Iโm pretty sure I read/heard around the time of the draft he had told interstate clubs not to pick him because he wanted to stay in Melb. I also think from memory he and his family were in tears when he was drafted to Fremantle. If we get him I hope he turns into a gun, but heโs been pretty underwhelming so far.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - HARLEY BALIC
Harley Balic has passed his medical tests with Melbourne and the Demons are now all but committed to bringing the midfielder across from Fremantle during the NAB AFL Trade Period. Balic has requested a move home to Victoria after two seasons with the Dockers and it is understood Fremantle will now work to facilitate a trade to his club of choice. The 20-year-old took indefinite leave from the club twice this season to deal with a personal issue and returned to Melbourne for a period during the season. What's he worth? The Dockers' starting point in negotiations is likely to be a pick in the 30s or 40s, but they might have to accept a later pick. The Demons hold pick No.45 in the third round and No.64 in the fourth round. Balic was a slider in his draft year of 2015 because of injury after being touted as a top-10 pick, eventually going at No.38. This sounds pretty close now. Passed a medical at the Dees according to AFL website. http://m.afl.com.au/news/2017-10-06/trade-wrap-docker-almost-a-demon

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
God I hope he comes to the Dees.

Clarence Oliver
I wonder if Clarry could be one of the rumoured outs. Was definitely very sore after the game last week and didn't train on Tuesday (according to track watchers). I didn't hear anything mentioned regarding training on Thursday, so it might be nothing. But noting the inclusion of Maynard, it makes me wonder if he might miss.

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
Has anyone heard from his Grandmother?

The Importance of Jordan Lewis
I thought and still think he'll be useful for the first 2 years. The third year was always going to be a battle for Jordan IMO. Bernie is in a similar position. I wouldn't be expecting anything useful from Bernie in 2019.

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
For what it's worth Glenn Luff (champion data) and David King gave Lever a huge rap on SEN this afternoon. Mentioned that his numbers as a defender were already elite and that he was tracking along a similar path as Rance in his youth. Love to see him in the red and blue.

Clarence Oliver
While I know it won't happen because he is dominating as an inside mid. I'd like to see him roll forward at some stage. I seem to recall reading about him kicking some big bags in junior days.

ANB and picks for Lever.

In Jason Taylor we trust!
I seem to recall that the pick we were hoping to get for the Trengove deal to the Tigers was earmarked for Jake Lever, who looks a very solid defensive player for Adelaide.

Clarence Oliver
His hands in close remind me of Simon Black.

Delistings
Interesting that Dave Misson in his weekly report said that Lumumba will be spending a couple of weeks away from the club. Seems like there is more to this than the quoted concussion issues. He is contracted for next year but surely a retirement must be on the cards.

Billy Stretch Appreciation Thread
He's one of only maybe half a dozen players I have confidence with, when he has the ball a Melbourne player will be the next to receive it. Watts, Petracca, Bernie (last week excluded) Salem, Jetta the others.

Nat Fyfe
I've heard he is not very popular among the playing group. Quite aloof apparently. Might be horse [censored]
- Simon Goodwin - coach in waiting...

AFL need to look into Rhys Mathieson!
That was one of the highlights of the day for me. You could sense the anger in the crowd that this little turd kept ducking into the tackle. By the 5th time they'd had enough. I love that his nickname hence forth will be Cheatmode.

And I think he scored a perfect score on the goal kicking comp.
