ROUND 19 - Non MFC games
I'll be supporting Essendon tonight (vomit!). They have Hawthorn next week (then StK), then Richmond and Port away in their last two rounds and need 4 out of 5 to make 13 wins. It's not completely unrealistic but I think they are a long shot to make the 8. Sydney have a super tough run and if they drop this they could also miss finals. FWIW I have tipped Sydney, as I don't rate Essendon.

MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 18
Having a look at the round one teams, there have been major changes to both sides. For the Cats Ins - Danger, Stanley, Cunico, Henry, S Selwood, Narkle, Jones, Henderson Outs - Taylor, Gregson, Ratagolea, Parsons, Smith, O’Connor, Fogarty, Zac Guthrie For us, Ins - Tmac, Brayshaw, Tyson, Frost, Spargo, JKH, J Smith Outs - Hannan, Hibberd, Lever, Maynard, Wagner, Hunt, Pedo Neither team has a significantly better or worse side, especially considering Lever had a shocker and Ratagolea played a great game. Edit: missed Henderson for Guthrie

Essendon VFL v Casey Demons - VFL Round 13
Hind for Essendon certainly looks like he has some potential. Bit of speed and class. Worth a look by Taylor and co I think. 23yo (soon to be 24), 180cm

Changes v St Kilda
Doesn't mean TMac is out. Could easily be coming in for Tim Smith

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
Why not 10 and 20 for lever?

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
Next year is a superdraft. Must not trade that pick

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
If it's under control it shouldn't have any effect.

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
You can get quality without giving up quality. We aren't going to get lever for 10 and a pack of chips. Tyson is replaceable with Maynard who hardly played this year and looks like being a similar style of ball magnet. Yes, we need more midfielders but we are very strong inside and rather need outside class and speed (which Tyson does not provide). He's a good but limited player in an area where we are well served. Btw, belittling what is a reasonable suggestion reflects idiocy towards you, not me. Thinking that Tyson's deficiencies can be fixed easily adds a bit of delusion to that too.

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
The main point I'm trying to make though is that I think Tyson and 10 is a reasonable trade for Lever (and something small back) and that Adelaide should take it if Tyson can be exchanged for something reasonable. He'd be worth an early second round pick (late first at a stretch) I would have thought.

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
Carlton giving their second round pick to Adelaide would help but they traded it out last year. Gibbs is worth a lot though - he's only 28 and is in the top 50 players in the AFL. Adelaide could definitely use him

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
The contrasting form of Maynard and Tyson in the second half of the year has made Tyson very expendable. The best way to get Lever without giving up too much would be to get Tyson to another Vic team. Something like... Melb - out: Tyson, pick 10 in: Lever, pick 38 Adel - out: Lever, pick 18 in: Gibbs, pick 10 Carl - out: Gibbs, pick 38 in: Tyson, pick 18

Agreed. They were clearly the 3 best on. Hibberd 3, Boak 2, Gray 1. Port had a lot of passengers, whereas we had a much more even team performance where pretty much everyone had a decent game except Watts

It looks like GWS then traded 20 with 21 and 48 for 14 (Cam McCarthy) and 29 (Rory Lobb). They passed on 72. Both teams have done well out of it - such a strong draft
