  1. Good votes. They’re right on the money.
  2. The guy is doing everything we need him to do and hits his targets. Can’t ask for more right now.
  3. Yeah it’s pretty lame but what can you do. I’m way too desensitised to it now. The time when I feel least like a Melbourne fan is when get levelled with this stuff. I have friends who know I don’t fit the stereotype but still say this crap anyway. Before the game on Fri walking up to the Mountain View I heard at least 2 jokes about cancelling trips to the snow. When comedians like Mick Molloy and Lawrence Mooney make these jokes I just sit there, and wonder why they aren’t fired for coming up with better material. I get it, they are jokes but it’s the lowest hanging fruit in the game right now. It sucks but I hope we are bringing about change to this.
  4. Welcome honorary Demon Docker!
  5. That still boggles my mind! Must be some decent binos!
  6. Reckon it was the Melksham around the body kick for me.
  7. I'll be doing the same if I ever get in. Will post updates.
  8. If I get in I'll buy them for you!
  9. Not going to be buying tix but I'm logging in just to see how it works in comparison to Ticketek. Still queuing!
  10. From memory you've done it for the last two seasons like myself. Could very well be paying off in spades, just the relief and security would be worth a few extra hundred alone!
  11. Was in the back of my mind too, glad they swallowed the whistle! Can't remember who called it, might have been Bruce because after he took it Bruce was saying how much he'd stepped up in the last.
  12. Hit the nail on the head so well with this post. They were very much the key moments. The Hibbo chase and behind was absolutely crucial, he was easily in the top 3 players for me. Viney, although a bit off Gunston no doubt had an impact with that chase and turned an open goal into a pressure kick. I’d also really like to add one: Melksham’s out-bodying of Sicily and mark and then kick to T-Mac for a clunker! It was right after Melksham’s goal which was great but I still felt momentum was with Hawthorn, this was the moment we wrestled it back in my opinion.
  13. I have not heard one decent explanation for the extended goalsquare. It seems like it is focused on one thing only, kick ins.and one spect of the kick in, kicking long. How dare they infiltrate the state of the game discussion with this crap.
  14. Not from that era I’m in my 30s, but I just wanted to say that I’ve watched that highlights reel so many times I have it memorised.

Too true. Hopefully it’s not quite as bad as if the Weagles win.

Such a great time to live there. Had to pay off sometime! ? Just a bridge too far at this point, barring a miracle. We’ll be well represented though I have no doubt.
  17. I don’t know but now that it looks like I’ll be here, it better be a place with a bloody big TV.
  18. I agree with his. The middle ground of excitement and tempered expectations.
  19. He does the things that many do not!
  20. Thanks mate that means a lot. I felt pretty silly and dumb writing that to be honest but I guess I just don’t know how to feel. Hopefully this is the start of something big and we’ll be back in this position many timers over the next few years but at the same time you gotta take your chances when they are there. It’s like a Wedding day I guess in that you always imagine that when it will happen it’s going to be perfect but find out it never really is.
  21. I don’t know about all of you but it has officially just hit me. I thought I was doing pretty well with all this and taking it in the stride but it just got so massively real. Palpitations, a few shakes here and there. I had a dream last night that Collingwood beat us by 8 points in the Grand Final and it felt so real and tragic. I’d love to play them in a Grand Final but that would hurt beyond belief, I really don’t want to risk that situation. I wish I had the confidence and the no fear attitude that so many of you have but I’m really scared. Winning a final and going out in a semi is ok, you can live with that. But the jump from semi to prelim is huge and in the territory of there possibly not being a better shot at it. Then there’s the Grand Final if we make it. I thought we were going back there every year after 2000 until about 03 when it was evident the moment had passed. Im also so nervy about this special moment that I have no idea what to do. Should I just stay in Melb or break the bank and get over to Perth because if we win and I’m not there after going to every game in Melbourne this year it may hurt. I know it’s not about me, I guess all these years you dream of the big moment and want to do everything perfectly. I know life isn’t perfect though. Appreciate if anyone else is feeling the same, it’s just going to be so tough to deal with. I didn’t want to make a new thread for it and I apologise if it’s too negative for some people I really do. Seems like MFCSS could take some time to subside.
  22. Couldn’t have put it better. Used to use this a lot to pump up for games.
