In a sport as versatile as AFL footy where positions are extremely interchangeable I find it difficult seeing the difference between any moves that have been made from a 'tanking' team. Yeah we sit here and laugh at how Brock Mclean was put to full forward against Carlton late in 09 and think how bizarre some of these things were but how do you prove it's more bizarre than if North were to throw Horne Francis to FF this week. I didn't understand it then and I don't understand it now, anyone who does then more power to you.

I hope a full on war meltdown breaks out as a result of this!

Yeah, it is genuinely comical when experts suggest this stuff. No-one even realises they are doing it. We were found not guilty of tanking but fined $500,000 for reasons no-one can remember and the public perception ever since has been that we got done for tanking. Perhaps something that the administration at the time would like to discuss at another time..

It's certainly not in a good state. Maybe like umpiring it's the sport that is too difficult! 😛

While it is a different view to mine, I don't have a problem with you feeling this way. Not everyone sees commentary exactly the same way and we all have different things that we want to get out of it. For instance I've got friends who love BT because they like they love all the silly stuff and brain breakdowns, they find it entertaining. I personally could do without it but it's different strokes.

I'll give Dermie credit I think he's really smart when it comes to footy but his problem is that he's too smart, it's like someone talking calculus off the cuff and expecting everyone to easily get what he's saying. I do like him as a footy mind but he's best suited for half time when he has time to ramble on rather than in game. The best thing about Daisy is she explains things in the most concise and easy to understand terms possible for that moment.

Content wise her special comments are unsurpassed in my view. The number of things she picks up on in game at the drop of a hat like why a player decided to kick to a certain area, why momentum has shifted, team psychology. Guys like Wayne Carey and Matthew Richardson are decent special comments guys I'll give them that but they really aren't capable of coming up with the stuff that Daisy does in a micro second. Richo usually says something like "Gee Hawthorn really need a goal here to get it back on their terms" and that's 90% of his commentary. Jones definitely has a future in the biz.

Anyway there isn't even a debate. Daisy is the best special comments person in the game right now. The article says Dermott reckons Wayne Carey is superior, I couldn't agree less. Daisy makes Carey look so B-grade it isn't funny.
