  1. The DB example is an excellent one and leaning over before ripping it was what allowed him to kick such great distances. I haven't studied this in great detail or anything but I find one of the most common faults of a goal kicking stance around the league is in the ball drop and more specifically the guiding hand. The way you guide the ball down to your foot (usually with your preferred hand) was always a big part of the drop punt skill when I was younger and I just don't think enough players even think about this.
  2. Jeremy Howe's words of not liking speed on the ball will hopefully come back to bite.
  3. One of his trusty go-to men along the journey. Wouldn't suprise me in the least if Clarko goes to North.
  4. There is no team in this league that gives me a feeling like Collingwood does. As I've gotten older I've learned to have respect for all clubs in this league no matter what, but some of these feelings still do remain and come out from time to time. What happened on Friday night was a total tire fire. Compounded with the booing for Langdon and opposition fans really sinking the boot in more for that. They are just one team I cannot cop and no other team in the league comes close to invoking these feelings. I don't like this club, I really don't like that we lost twice to them in one year. I would love to get them in the first week of the finals but a GF might give me heart failure and I'm still young enough to be considered young for that to happen.
  5. Such a waste of the court's time.
  6. 60ish % conversion better than most really
  7. It should be 4 weeks if it backfires.
  8. Either do it or we blew it.
  9. That's complete crap. I asked people what their thoughts were on Grundy's forward craft due to the small sample size. Read what I said.
  10. Not to mention Grundy is not that much younger. All of a sudden we end up with two high profile ruckmen on the list who with a bit of luck both fall off the cliff at the same time leaving us in a chasm. Need to be smart.
  11. We still love you Dogga!
  12. I really would prefer this route, I just can't get my head around Grundy and if he's a good fit or not. It would be nice if whoever comes in could have a little forward craft and flexibility but then people tell me Grundy would do the majority of the ruckwork anyway to allow Max to go forward. While it's a good idea to prolong Max's career it doesn't will me with confidence that we suddenly want to send the best Ruckman of the last 5 years to become predominantly a forward. Someone who can learn from Max and offer a bit up forward if needed fits the bill more for me.
  13. I still love the suggestions that Stafford is rubbish and that we need some famous goalkicker from the past who may or may not even be a coach.
  14. Well he's good for an outside 50 goal at least
  15. layzie replied to Tracca's topic in Melbourne Demons
I want someone who I can trust to be on the park week in week out. Not saying he can't do this but I'm not convinced at this time with the number of questionable games where he's 'managed'. I would look at him if he came cheap but not convinced he fixes everything.
  16. Exactly, Ed and Amon on either wing would be an incredible threat. Gives us more ability to hurt opposition by foot.
  17. I'd rather go for a forward who can play ruck but that's me. I don't dig Max playing more forward, I get a bit sick of hearing that actually.
  18. Before remembering they are playing Collingwood in Rd 23 I would have said throw the book at him.
  19. I like it, good recognition there.
  20. This is one of the crappiest appeals ever.
  21. It's a good question, I'd say it should. Unless they factor in the stupid pre season games.
  22. Yep, certainly a harder one to take than others.
  23. This ban should be upheld
