GAMEDAY: Rd 08 vs West Coast
Reasonable start

The Logan Morris Thread
The tea leaves can be telling. It's anyone's guess how they are assessing Jeffo at the moment. Kind of feels like they were obliged to give him his debut but no further plans.

PREGAME: Rd 08 vs West Coast
It's a happy hunting ground for Melk, regularly kicks goals there. I reckon he'll be on again, chalk him in for 2.

Training Ground?
Couldn't agree more SWYL. I also spent some time in that area and absolutely love that ground. I don't really have a connection or interest with Casey other than tracking how our players are going, Sandy is where the heart is.

TRAINING: Thursday 1st May 2025
Yeah, that's definitely not going to help the already anxious thinkers.

The 2025 Indigenous Guernsey
I like it! One of the better 'detailed' jumpers. Might even be close to my favourite.

PREGAME: Rd 08 vs West Coast
Drop 10% in this game and we'll lose. Need to bring something close to our best. The days of winging it are over so wing over there and get the job done.

Tom McDonald re-signs for 2025
It's the fight of the century. Father time is undefeated but here comes a worthy challenger!

Training Ground?
As an aside I'm still on the Zebmail mailing list because I hold Sandy in extremely high regard after our time there and I was very happy to see that they knocked back that request from STK. One of the best footy clubs in the country for mine.

Has anyone used the Mcqualter intel line yet? It's easy just copy last week's about Yze and change one word.

Archie Walsh - 2025 F/S Potential
Ah Whopper! That takes us back, super hard at the ball and hardnosed back flanker. Craig Cameron really could find gems at rookie draft level. Remember that checkside he kicked at the G in that famous 2000 QF against Carlton from the Warne stand pocket? Seemed mathematically impossible. Memories aside, the fact that we're hearing about him now makes me think this is a long shot but his dad was a latecomer to the game and he's got more avenues to be drafted than Peter did. Keen to see how he goes.

The Economy ???
That really is the end of an era.

Melbourne Football Club - The CEO
I hear the general manager at the Priceline down the street only needs a week's notice. Might as well get him in for an interview 😛

Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver in 2026
I must say in pre season I thought he looked in really great shape. Something isn't quite right and it is obvious he's labouring a bit in games at the moment.

The Quarters Ladder
Now someone please make a quadrant or bell curve showing the best of the best, the middle, and the worst of the worst.

Xavier Lindsay- Round 7 Rising Star
Very happy he got the nomination. Was possibly one of those 'weeks of consistency' nominations. Who cares how he gets it though, he's in now.

The Logan Morris Thread
Plays a bit taller than 191cm and takes a ripping contested mark. Bit of a Jack Riewoldt type. Wouldn't say no.

The brutal 10-week fixture
It's been a great debate indeed. Looking forward to seeing how it plays out and if we are fresher as a result.

Max Gawn 3 x All Australian
*Seven times All Australian. That's right count them, Seven. Seven is heaven...

Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver in 2026
All I'll say is he was in absolutely ripping nick back then.

Melbourne Football Club - The CEO
Honestly I have no idea if this is a good appointment and I’m not going to pretend otherwise. I don’t believe that you need to have a background in the game to be an AFL club CEO but I do think that the position of AFL club CEO is completely different to CEO of a corporation. You do need to have a grasp on the game, liaise with members whether that be in a forum like the AGM or down at the training track. Sounds like they've picked a CEO for a specific purpose. He's a former director at Racing Victoria, Vic chamber of commerce etc. Would have absolutely loved Nicholson I think he would have fit the bill perfectly but I wasn’t in charge of the brief so I don't know what they were looking for. Caulfield is clearly the priority so we’ve gone with someone in the know at least. It could be that this is a 3-4 year appointment. Anyway I have no other opinion on this right now, I don’t feel bad and I don’t feel good. Hopefully it proves to be the right call.

Think he was a Tigs fan. He was also made their CEO at 24 y.o!

Sharing My Ongoing Cancer Experience
Just came across this thread now Hardtack. No need to apologies for sharing this journey, got a few challenges myself at the moment and reading about much harder challenges is helping me to get out of my own head. Take it easy mate, you really are an inspiration to us all.

POSTGAME: Rd 07 vs Richmond
It seems that people think there is a direct correlation between resting Max in the last and our fade out. Simple explanations are great but it's rarely that way. We aren't in a franchise sport where we rested Steph Curry for the last quarter, we have 17 others on the field most of which are also premiership players. We have also bombed in every last quarter this year and I still don't think there is enough attention on the fitness side of things. You heard Holmes and Draper after the Cats and Dons games saying how they know if they run around with the ball on the outside that's the way to beat us, it's a dead giveaway right there. I saw Christian Salem, easily in our top 4 players on the night, attempt a 25m backwards 50 chip and scrubbed it about 10 leading to that late goal by Taranto or whoever. There were at least 2 or 3 instances like this in the last 5 mins that lead me to believe that fatigue and barely being able to run out the game is a problem for us. Yes I know we were coming off a 5 day break but as mentioned this has been the case in all games this season. I very much hope resting Gawn pays dividends. But we need more than 1 quarter of good footy. There aren't any finals sides that flick the switch when they want to.
