  1. Probably that too yeah.
  2. When I think of that time and that game style, the first thing I think of is 'turnovers in good areas'. Our line was set high but our pressure up the ground was so immense that we would have Lever, May and Petty intercepting sometimes in the middle of the ground enabling plenty of repeat lock in jobs. The work of our wingmen that season does get overlooked as they would cover for those guys all the time. Not just in a contest way but as a backstop if needed, the mental side of being the opposition looking up and seeing our guys back their already and being forced to kick sideways or just hoof it. I nicknamed our back 6 the 'No Fly Zone' that season and it worked an absolute treat and I also thoroughly enjoyed watching how we played that season. Elements of this approach in our back 6 will remain, it's in our DNA. However our thought process around scoring does need to evolve. Who knows, it still might come from repeat entries and chaos but we really do need to keep fine tuning the way we rebound and transition from the backline. I am confident that with enough good users of the football back there we can develop this into something that will bear fruit.
  3. Really looking forward to seeing what Woey can offer this year. He's got the tank and ticker, just needs to find a role that suits.
  4. It is kind of funny that he would say it even as a joke. Seems like a never say never person even if happy in that moment.
  5. I think anyone coming up with a logo is doing us a real disservice considering 'emblem' is mentioned multiple times in our song.

Dead money is nothing new for us. Did it with Dee Ford and still paying Armstad, not saying it's good but we tend to cut losses a lot. Highlights what I said yesterday, he may have wanted out but the team must have really wanted it as well.
  7. I just liked reading phrases like 'fat rats clacker' and 'bee's diaphragm' haha.
  8. The chances are there's some flub journos who get their stories from DL so let's keep the action going everyone.

Yep. The option is there if a team has the cap room and wants to entice him to go round again. He's probably gonna want a decent weapon or two.
  10. Bring it on. Nothing like unrest right on the eve of a season.
  11. Let's get this thread longer than the last one.
  12. I just posted in the postgame thread the question of what would be a pass mark for Kade this season and how would you grade his week by week by week performance this year. Over time I've found him a difficult one to evaluate. If he does have a weapon, it's his offensive and defensive running. The guy works damn hard and for that it is very tough to hate him. I'm wondering if he might just not be good enough. He can have some amazing games as a forward but when the games are tougher for a small 'opportunist' forward, you need to be capitalising on minimal chances and turning half-chances into full ones. Apart from the obvious lock the small forward spots are up for grabs as far as I'm concerned. We need to see what we have in Henderson as from all accounts he has the same work rate as Chandler and is natural around goals.
  13. Let's talk about Kade Chandler. What is the expectation of Kade week in week out this year? Is 8 possessions and a goal per week on average a decent pass mark? Is it not stats based and more off the ball focused with pressure? Or do we just accept that Chin is someone who will have his really good games but also go missing? Keen to hear what people think, how will you be grading his performance this season?
  14. Trade and free agency period is another thing for another time. Right now I'm happy for any potential distractions to aid their 2025 cause.

If I'm the Giants, I'd at least ask the question. They'll be trying to get the no.1 pick from the Titans and if they get it and draft a Cam Ward or whoever, they might want veteran QB for a year or two to mentor and usher them in. After swinging for the fences with Stafford, I reckon they could have a good pitch to Rodgers. If he still wants to play they're in a position to offer something decent to move across the street. But there's more.. The Jets are reportedly shopping Devante Adams around and look desperate to get out from under that massive contract they took on from world champion bad deal makers the Raiders. They could bring him over as well to sweeten the deal for Aaron. It might still be a long shot but I'd entertain it over the usual suspects like Cousins, Darnold, Russell Wilson etc.

I did too and I think it says a lot. Either they weren't happy with the shape he was in last season or really wanted him out of there. Or both, or something else. Love the guy but I do think a departure was necessary. Along with his fluctuating fitness, we were force feeding him the ball this season the production wasn't there. Maybe a change is what he needs.
  17. Fortnightly isn't too bad. At least he isn't afraid to front up.
  18. I've always been scared to get special jumpers signed. I'm one of those terrible adult males that still likes wearing them to games and is worried about having to wash it if it ever got dirty.. That is really cool though!
  19. When you have the cards and are in the position to play hardball, you play it. I liked that he spoke out and took a stance, I do kind of wish that he didn't talk prices this early on or at least said 3 top 10 picks to really price anyone out of the running.
  20. Guess we should consider ourselves the lucky ones.
  21. You're not alone, nearly everyone I know loved that one. I managed to snag the limited edition one they brought out in 2020 during COVID as a tribute. Prized possession.
  22. Well the clearances and contest ball sounded great!
  23. I couldn't give a stuff if it's true or not. The fact that this is getting some media time is just gravy to me after everything we dealt with that year. Every news story that comes up about it will be music to the ears. Hope it continues long.
  24. Didn't see the game but read in the report that Aiden Johnson competed hard all day and was rewarded with a goal for his efforts late. With JVR's back spasm and possible doubt for Rd 1, what are the chances for Johnson getting the nod? Also as a side note: Reading about Trac/Clarry's performance and Clarry's excellent physical condition was better news than any result on the day. This is very encouraging.
  25. I did not see the game but I am reading the report on mfc.com. These are the quick takeways: - "Trac and Oliver back to their best with 20 clearances between them" 👍 - "Oliver in superb physical condition" 👍 Note: These two above are already much better news than the overall result on the day. - "Aiden Johnson impressive in forward line, competing hard all day" Yes please 👍 - Clearances 45-27 and contested ball 127-112. It's not everything but it's great to hear the Dees are getting their hard edge back. - JVR back spasm injury, hopefully right for Rd 1 👎 One for dessert: - "Justin Longmuir has hosed down rumours of Luke Jackson trade talk saying he's never been happier" Just a little sugar sweetener. Don't care if there's nothing to it at all but I do like that they had to field that question and the more the better.
