Didn't receive it. Not the club's fault though, happens a lot with this address.

Welcome to Demonland: Harvey Langford
layzie replied to spirit of norm smith's topic in Trade, Draft & Free Agency
Cal had him at no.3 in his last phantom draft. Reasonable left footer which is a point of difference, a solid metres gained guy. Worth trading up for? No idea. -
Haven't seen a lot of his disposal to judge but I reckon Smillie has close to if not the best footy IQ in this draft. Separation at the contest, reading the ruckman's taps, fluent in the language of the stoppage.
-
I'd say not only because his body is shot but it would be nice to nab someone for a year or two to help fast track JVR and Jeffo's development.

When we're talking about Kate's email do we mean the one in Jan 2022 or was there one in the last week regarding this? Can't find anything from her recently.

2024 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
layzie replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
You guys would know better than me with most of these but I'm a fan of Sam Lalor. Solid but also dynamic mid who has the size to play as a resting forward if needed. But to your point, he seems to love the physical side of the game and tackles like he means it. Something we could use definitely use more of. -
Yeah I'd take that for a grand final.
-
Well I think it's the world's worst kept secret that it would have been smarter to stay a few more years and then seek the big trade back. David King was crying out for it during the week begging Jackson to be that ruck influence they needed. I still think he'll be a big success but we'll see how successful, his team is a joke.

Thank you football

I'm the same, I believe it would be this year or never. When it comes to possiblities though, I think most of us have seen enough to know that nothing is ever iron clad. As for not being traded without agreement, I think there's more chance of players coming around to trades then digging their heels in and making things untenable at their current club, not to mention the way it looks to the rest of the league when you appear to want out but then reject a trade, future employer poison. Yes there is the chance that he could stay at us and change his mind but another possibility is that another team may be happy to take him for a year with the view to getting him where he wants to go, stranger things have happened. When it comes to no-one wanting to take on big money contracts, we've seen plenty of ways around those as well when it seemed impossible. I hope he stays and works it out.
-
Firstly I'll reiterate that this is hypothetical. Secondly with 5 years left on the contract I'll say it again, it doesn't matter what he wants. I think I differ on the approach from then on. If he doesn't want to be at our club that bad then I'd prefer to do a deal. I don't think we'd win a flag with the state of our list anyway but to keep a player who doesn't want to be there creating a weekly media circus and ripping through the morale of our team would be it next to impossible to win one. I believe that this should be worked out and he will stay on but I've got no interest whatsoever in helping Petracca get to where he wants to go at the expense of using our football club like a doormat.

If only Jackson didn't leave If only Trac didn't get hurt If only Fullarton could play If only Gus didn't get KO'd into next year If only Gawndy worked out If only T-Mac never had the footy issues If only Ben Brown didn't have a degenerative knee If only Jesse never left If only Frawley never left If only Woewodin never left If only Farmer never left If only Barassi never left. Can we stop whinging for a change?

Hypothetically, and thats if this is the case: If he's just gonna bide time till next year to try again for a trade then we should trade to the highest bidder now and be done with it. This laughable talk that the preferred destination is Collingwood really has no bearing at all.

Any other ways of saying pick 5? We need more threads on the matter.

These finals stink
-
Brilliant stuff
-
Every damn one of you were made fools of.
-
'Nailing' this off season is definitely the catch cry around here. Hopefully next year there will be a nail death ride thread
-
Flogmantle belong in hit the bricks town
-
A crappy ending
-
I feel like we were all made fools of. Why did we assume Carlton missed when they lost? They were more in than we could ever imagine due to Freo's stickiness.
-
That is the ball game
-
Pathetic football club wit a stench worse than death. This is supposed to be the 'golden hour'. Heads should roll
-
And people think we have a soft underbelly. This club stinks and you can't trust them.

Looks like Carlton will play finals anyway.
