  1. The way Goodwin has handled this one has been quite exemplary.
  2. That's right, corrected. Would edit but we're on live coast to coast.
  3. I would say so. Tex's year has been exceptional, only 1 goal behind Curnow in the Coleman. Rankine is one of the best forward 50 stoppage players in the comp, gotta watch those ground balls in defensive 50. Yes there's Fogarty, Rachele and Thilthorpe who can get on the scoreboard but things up forward do tend to flow from the other two and I'd rather make them try to beat us with their 3rd, 4th and 5th options.
  4. Exactly Chelly and we dropped the ball by not mentioning this in the Deathriding thread. Apologies if someone mentioned this in the Deathriding thread.
  5. I couldn't either, I was just going off DLers which is always a smart thing to do..
  6. The last 7 or 8 posts have been really insightful and I don't think anyone is wrong. Personally looking back at the replay I thought in the 2nd and 3rd quarters there was still a lot that we were doing right. We did make some poor decisions and at times there could have been a work rate issue but the Lions were really just that good. Some of their delivery into 50 was just pure silk and while people might be a bit mixed on whether our backline had a good game or not, I do wonder if many other backlines would have kept them to less than 104 with the footy they were producing. I gave our defence a B grading on the night. I think we took a lot out of this game learnings wise. Letting a team 'play in their own half' to use a Soccer term will work most times but they way they kept the ball in motion and pulled our zone around can be a trap. Plenty for Chaplin to take out of it.
  7. It's also hard to do something like this every week as a knee-jerk, even doing the votes can be a challenge. I like the instant reaction nature of this thread before everyone puts their two cents in on the postgame thread.
  8. No real surprise. A few clubs out there would be keen.
  9. Clarko taught him well.
  10. The only guy who openly supported the camp and the positive impact it had on him. Heart and soul of AFC and ultimate clubman. Those fans are scum and don't deserve him, hope he gets a late career trade and maybe a last shot at a flag.
  11. I watch this film a lot lately!
  12. I'm getting a little frustrated with the argument that certain things introduced would be more 'exciting' for the competition. When they first brought the sub in around 2011 the people who liked it said it was exciting and added something to the game but didn't really factor in what it meant for players and coaches. Just this morning I was speaking with my boss about Marvel, he likes going there and thinks it's a good stadium fair enough. I said that the place is pretty flawed and that I've never been a fan of the surface and he replied "Well, I don't play on it". This is the kind of person that laps up whatever the AFL gives them. It's almost this self absorbed entertainment factor and it makes you feel like a nutjob for caring about the overall state of the competition and how it's played. I do think it will happen and we will get used to it, whatever dude.
  13. Make sure we get the two heavy hitter club CEOs in that caption.
  14. I do think he's entitled to his opinion. He does however have no knowledge of the inner workings at MFC and can't read Brodie's mind.
  15. I wish there was more footage of it, looked like something out of Tad Lasso. I haven't seen Ted Lasso but taking a punt for potential good social veneer.
  16. Watched a bit of Curtain's highlights last night. Moves well for a tall.
  17. The only VHS tape I have in a place that I can identify quickly is a taped version of this game.
  18. Maybe a Clint Bartram
  19. No but they're being played there, that's sort of all that matters right now isn't it?
  20. Definitely next time!
  21. I haven't taken part in this quiz but I'm happy that everyone seems to have had a good time doing it!
  22. Jeff could certainly kick a footy, wouldn't have made a bad KPF himself if he wasn't such a gem in ruck.
  23. Still time for a quick trip to Camp Grenada!
  24. Just wondering how long our midfield can function well without him. At this point it's looking a bit like a Jack Viney 2018 situation where he may lack match fitness but we'll go all in on getting him right for finals.
  25. These are the little 1%ers that successful footy clubs do in list management. Not as glamorous as writing big checks or chasing unicorns but they seem to work really well!
