Aliir Aliir & Lachie Jones in Concussion Protocol
Last night on SEN Gerard Healy opened with a 2 or 3 minute monologue about AFL club doctors. He made some great points about this not being an ideal profession for these people because you get paid less and much more possible scrutiny like this, he also went on to list the amazing practitioners he's had at club level and still sees as his personal doctors now. Kane then came in and echo'd his statements and they both went on the defend people in these roles and how good they have been and that Fisher was a brilliant doctor who made a mistake and will serve the appropriate punishment. Will choose my words carefully on this because this incident has really stirred things up. I appreciate Gerard's take on this, I really do. It's important we get opinions from people who have been around these people longer than any of us, and these opinions have their place. However with the highest respect to these people, at this point in time and on a very rare occasion, I do not want to hear from ex players on this issue. I want to hear from completely independent sources. Experts in the field, scholars, people who have studied these injuries and written theses on the subject. I want to hear about what needs to happen, what needs to be different about processes, protocols etc. I don't want to hear Kane Cornes saying how doctors have it so tough and have to tend to so many things in the moment and could easily make a mistake by missing a potential concussion and requirement for a SCAT5 test, because to me that just means there is scope for another mistake to be made in future. This is absolutely not a time for the old "You wouldn't know because you never played or worked in a footy club, you don't know how hard it is" routine. No excuses, we need solutions and we need the select few people who actually know the subject back to front to come up with these. Not people with a conflict of interest or sticking up for mates.

Finals preference
Yeah there's something about it that really gets my pulse racing, to the point where I don't know if I want it. That Grand Final week would be really difficult. The highest high of elation in this sport for me would be beating them in a GF, the lowest of lows and pits of despair would be losing to them. Playing them in a QF or a prelim would still be stressful but more preferable for reasons I can't explain. To each their own but give me Port or Bris in a Grand Final anytime over that. Just my thoughts.

What they are saying at Arden Street
I love Hellyers Rd but the pricepoint is a little beyond ideal compared to other great local whisky brands.

The No T$ No B$ Thread
My last pinacolada was in Vegas about 8 years ago at Paris casino. It came in a massive Eiffel tower glass and I could see the guy tip half a bottle of rum in. I just managed to make it to the end but got dared to have another one. I was totally floored the next day and could barely move. The mere smell of pineapple juice made me sick for at least a year afterwards.

Aliir Aliir & Lachie Jones in Concussion Protocol
If they didn't see it then wouldn't they be wondering why the player has come from the ground and needs treatment? Hear what you're saying but this is a big bucks sporting league and they simply need to be better. Assistants watching, memorising the protocols, Ipads with Kayo for quick TV replay access etc. The tools are all there.

Have we officially found our full forward?
T-mac did it in 2019 as well before his knee injury in the same game.

PREGAME: Rd 21 vs North Melbourne
We've got this obsession on here lately that everyone has to be 100% cherry ripe all the time. It's AFL footy and it doesn't happen, players play with knocks and niggles all the time. Otherwise what the hell is the point of the pre-finals bye? I know we're fearful of a situation like last year but from all accounts the level of banged up that we were was from another post code. I'd be shocked if we pulled out 3 or more regular starters for the sake of rest, May and Viney yes if actually hurt, and that's a big if.

Aliir Aliir & Lachie Jones in Concussion Protocol
Absolute total balderdash. The protocol for concussions would be right at the front of mind in AFL briefings to these staff at the start of the season. Serious head collision occurs, perform the test, sit player out for 15 mins minimum. You don't even need to be a doctor to remember that.

2023 Injury List
It's pretty rough yeah. Total clickbait. Onward to next year for Sestan, big pre season and a massive tilt at things.

2023 Injury List
Awful news for Oli Sestan who is out for the season now with a dislocated shoulder 😭

2023 Injury List
Very massive. I would love to see one more shot at it from T-mac this year but I'm having more doubts, can he get up to the speed we need from him? Living in hope.

- The Run Home
I'd go as far as saying that the Dusty goal was the only one we've given up like that this year, 2 or 3 at most. I like your Rugby analogy, the flat line is typically used in defence when you don't have the ball in Rugby so it is high risk to be streaming forward in unison. The thing I can't figure out is why it has taken so long for a team to exploit it. Could it simply be a case of teams missing their chances early? I won't be surprised if a team got a run-on early against the Pies in a final and blew them out. Despite last week's loss they haven't really had that smack in the mouth wake up call yet. Are they going to be good enough or flexible enough when the chips are down and playing a composed team?- The Run Home
Losing mentality is losing mentality. Nothing else.- Finals preference
Collingwood at G but we fear no-one.
