As a fitness staff how difficult is it to prepare a conditioning plan for constant unorthodox breaks? eg. 5 day break followed by 10 day break.

5 for the game on centre clearances, huge number and one that will always put you on the back foot. Also out 'pressured' in the first quarter, just like the game late last season. This all contributes to getting the jump on us and combined with quick scores out of the middle we'll likely keep starting games against them this way if it isn't rectified.

Not one for using the dreaded 5 day break excuse but our game on Saturday was as taxing as they come, 5 days later and it's a wet track against a contender. It a lot of ways it does make the comeback look pretty impressive. A forget game for me and hardly a representation of what the season holds for us, we'll bounce back.

Same thing everyone else does, cry myself to sleep!

We didn't score a single point for a quarter and a half. Carlton had 6 straight on the board and were slaughtering us in all the vital stats in that time. More than happy for someone to explain how exactly we 'dominated' that period of the game.

At the end of the day while Carlton deserved the win and were great early on, I don't think they can play much better than that. Apart from Saad, Williams and Motlop that was pretty much a full strength team. We relied on Trac to keep us in it a lot. Plenty of underperformers that I can't see staying quiet next time round. And we still nearly won it! Yes we were 2nd best tonight in my opinion but I am encouraged.

Been waiting a while for this and will continue to. I think Riv could offer a lot in there with a turn of pace and just a different look.

The cooling off is beginning and I do think our overall game is in good shape. Most things are in order and were in order tonight apart from midfield assertion. I think this is nothing but a 'forget' game and we'll be going places this year.

This is what drives me nuts about this place lately. We get a nice little comeback at the end and people get high on the sugar hit. I do not agree with this and won't fall for the fools gold. Carlton setup better, were first to every ball for 90% of the game, setup better behind the ball and rinsed us on goals from clearances. I understand comebacks mask the deficiencies but there was no way we were the better team tonight thats just deluded. Happy to agree to disagree.

That is so far from true. We never had any real 'flow' of the game at all until that last 10 minutes despite the little moments we got here and there that the Blues would instantly answer. Better team won.

Please tell me no more Thurs games or 5 day breaks for a very long time.
