The 2023 Draft and Trade Targets Thread
He won't be there as I reckon North will take him with the McKay compensation pick 3. The hard part with all this pick swap we need to know what clubs will get next year in relation to Father Sons and NGA picks. Such a massive advantage bulldogs have been massive winners in recent years, now Brisbane not only get NGA priority but also father Son which gives them another Ashcroft next season. Sydney and Brisbane should have limits on NGA as they have access to FS where as GCS and GWS don't as yet

Trade Rumours 2023
What if the reason Footscray want pick 4 is to trade this to WCE for pick 1 and 19 for pick 4 and Naughton. That will give WCE Curtin and Naughton Bulldogs Reid and Croft. If the bulldogs think Naughton will leave as free agent next year, get something this year. WCE then remove Freo from FA next year and they have cleared a bit of salary cap space to make this happen. Scary the dogs can really set themselves up for next 10 years with NGA pick before rule was changed, and father son picks, add in Reid as well.

The 2023 Draft and Trade Targets Thread
The FS, Academy picks you now these players will effect the draft number but it won't effect the pool of players available at that pick. If pick 5 goes to 7 we will still have access to the same pool of players to select.

Trade Rumours 2023
At the moment we are looking at Grundy to Swans for early second round pick 22 is Jordon to Swans hopefully for after second round pick 33 is Mcadam in, I think the pick we get for Jordon does this deal Harmes still looking, unfortunately for Harmes he is worth more to the club than what we will get in return unless it is a part of a package to get a player in or advance our second round pick. Then we add in pick swapping that may net up another first round pick. Pretty big couple of weeks coming up

The 2023 Draft and Trade Targets Thread
You take them to the draft for a team that has sat in the top 4 for the last 3 seasons to get 3 players inside the top 15 is a massive opportunity to have an extended period contending, especially considering the compromised Drafts coming up

Training Ground?
Won't matter state has no money, going to be some lean budgets coming up

2023 NATIONAL DRAFT ORDER AND SELECTIONS
Nah, in that draft order the GC lose pick 6 with the bid for Walter. It mostly will be 7 if GC trade that pick

In Jason Taylor we trust!
Correct, also helps that these young players coming in can be developed at the right level. We are fortunate that we can develop players for 12 to 24 months at VFL if they aren't ready for AFL.

Farewell James Harmes
Harmes is looking as he doesn't what to finish his career sitting at Casey. You respect that, he thinks he might get more opportunity elsewhere we shake hands and get something for him. Unfortunately he is worth a third round pick, for the club we need to either use him to get other deals done or advance our picks

Connor O'Sullivan
I reckon North will use the pick 3 free agent compensation pick to draft this guy, will actually be an upgrade over time on the bloke going out

2023 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
Yep, they seem to look to get it on the right track and then get wrong people in and stuff it up. If Clark is still ceo it will go no where

2023 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
Perth seem to have a reasonable crop of u18 players every couple if years but just don't develop them to be competitive in there seniors.

Is our time at the top done?
I think with the right drafting and trading we can actually have an extended period contending for a flag. We are going to have a very strong draft hand this year and I reckon Tassie will get some access to kids next year followed by 2 to 3 Drafts with a lot of early picks. This could be the last non compromised draft for 2 to 4 years. We still have a young enough core group add in the next young group, we are filling gaps, the clubs down the bottom still have massive holes and a few recent and current contenders are prime to fall off the cliff

Clarry Act of Sportsmanship against Carlton
I thought Jack Viney was great in this aspect kicking the ball lace out to Carlton players to make sure everyone got a kick.

The 2023 Draft and Trade Targets Thread
Logan Morris should be there at pick 24. Very similar player to JVR and would be handy. I doubt he will be there at our next pick. Pick 5 O Sullivan Pick 14 Best Mid Pick 24 Morris I think we might offer Grundy and 24 for 11 and 30.

How do players lose the skill of kicking straight?
If you haven't got your kicking action sorted by 14 or 15 years old, it is hard to make a poor kick into a good kick. It might improve but under pressure your old bad habits will come out. On goal kicking pressure no question, your arms get tight which effects the ball drop. I hate seeing players that move the ball from side to side, keep it simple, you always ball in hand will have a little bit of the left to right movement prior to ball drop but the last couple of steps everything needs to be straight and relaxed. The other thing know your limitations, nev jetta is an example of this 25m to 40m great kick, kept it simple and knew this was his idea range

What's needed in 2024
I'm not so sure about the win now, no question we can play finals again in 2024, but I'm not sure we can win. This isn't just from the last 2 weeks we just lack that polish, no doubt we are a great contested team but the new contenders are more balanced with contested and skill. I see 2024 as a dangerous year for the club, we might need to step back to go forward.

2023 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
It's all about ball movement, opposition teams know our kick inside 50m is terrible so they sit back wait for the turnover kick and attack from there. Until we address the teams kicking we have to play this way. Kick the ball better you can hit that dangerous through the corridor kick and open up your forward line, whilst we kick poorly we are stuck with the predictable kick.

Picket v Spargo - The Learnings
To me it is him not getting to the right spot, we don't want you climbing on a pack, we want you at the front of the pack. The hits are just silly. Hit the tackle rather than bump
