  1. West Coast may boast that having Kennedy back gives them an advantage since the Rd 22 encounter. I'd say we have them more than covered in the midfield and that is where the game is going to be won. Viney back into the side for this game gives us another player that will worry the Eagles, they weren't able to curtail our midfield 4 weeks ago, what makes them think they will be able to now? It's time to start believing in this Demons side. We have arguably the best contested midfield group in the comp, are the highest scoring side in the comp and over the last 10 weeks I think we have been the best defensive side also. No change. Back the guys in that have been doing the job. It's a tough ask to win over there but this side is good enough.

General admin tickets have been on sale for 40minutes, Tim Gossage on SEN mentioned that there are only single seats left & that the event is almost sold out already.

I have purchased a ticket but can't attend the game. Section 105 Row 16, Melbourne Cheersquad Section. Anyone who wants to go to the game and can get there feel welcome to PM me, I will happily sell you the ticket at cost just to get a fellow demon into the game! Go Dees!

That would be an expensive uber!

Any idea if the club organises buses to get over there? Cheapest return flights are 850 so not that keen. Would even consider ride sharing or hiring a bus ?

He wasn't great last week so I'm not sure if it disadvantages them if he does go out. They will probably bring in a mid for him as they haven't brought a mid in for O'Meara yet.

Whately mentioned there was only 3000 tickets left tonight on AFL360. That would then leave AFL and MCC members as an unknown. The MCG is predicting 90k, they are usually pretty accurate.
  8. He's probably got a slight niggle. I doubt it is serious enough for him not to play otherwise he wouldn't be out on the track at all today and they'd have him doing a fitness test on the day of the game to see if he is right. Most likely he has some tightness or they are still managing him after he did his quad a couple of months back.

He needs to develop his game. Last year was his break out year and opponents didn't have much intel on him. Now opponents are aware of the damage he can do if left in space they have shut him down. He needs to add more strings to his bow if he is going to be a best 22 player. His attack on the ball and opponent is great, but he needs to add polish to his game so he isn't just about dashing with ball in hand.

Exactly. I think its the reason why they are playing Spargo instead of someone like Garlett.

No dramas this week. In the queue for 15 minutes. Got into ticketek finals page at 9am. 5 seats N10 all in a row no dramas! Go Dees
  12. Any doubts about the inclusion of Viney were dispelled for me last night watching the game between Richmond & Hawthorn. Richmond 's pressure was relentless and ultimately is what gets them over the line most weeks. They just run harder and pressure for longer. I hope our players were watching that game and took note of what it is going to take to win finals footy. JV helps give us an added dimension of ferocity at the ball and opponent probably above any other player on our list or indeed player in the comp could. I'm really starting to look forward to seeing what we dish up to the Cat's tonight. We've been better than them twice already this year, hope we will be 100% switched on from the first bounce and put them away.
  13. Yes, it is a societal issue generally Rjay at the moment and no doubt our players like any other clubs would most likely dabble in illicit drugs. We would be naive to believe otherwise. However I don't see any other club in the AFL or any other code for that matter having 3 of it's players being suspended for cocaine use in the last few years. I believe all AFL clubs would be tested at the same frequency throughout the year.
  14. Doesn't like any sort of scrutiny or to be made accountable. The fact that he got his knickers in a knot are a sure sign that the questions raised a valid point. Colonwood do have an issue with illicit drugs at their club that they haven't dealt with as they continue to have players testing positive to coke. 3 players in a few years, I think Whately was well within his rights to ask the question.

Had around 15 touches and contested in the air well. I think he gave us more of a contest in the air than what Hogan has been giving over the last few weeks. Today was a good step for him and you can see the effort and desire is there. The rest will come with time hopefully.
  17. You can have all the talent in the world but if you don't apply it your just a waste of space. I'd prefer a talented player who works hard over just a hard worker. But if the more talented player isn't working hard you take the hard worker everytime. At least you know the hard working player will be accountable and play a role defensively. It's something you can never guarantee with Garlett, he picks and chooses when he puts in defensive effort. He has been like that his whole career. It was ok for us when we were a bottom side but it's not enough for a finals team.
  18. He has kicked 42 of his goals this year against the bottom 10 sides? Barely averaging a goal a game against the top sides.
  19. Said it was a fresh injury during the sydney game and he will get results from the scans tomorrow. He mentioned all players have niggles throughout the year. I have no idea how to read the situation and whether it is serious or not, seemed to have a pretty blasé reaction to question but maybe that's just his character. Judging by his comments on all players having niggles I am hopeful that it is just that and that it can be managed.
  20. Richmond lost today, we need 1 win from the remaining 2 to take top spot.
  21. 7.11.53 - 8.6.54 ? 1 point in it.
  22. Casey Radio suggested it was a dislocated finger?
  23. Roughhead is contracted for next year.
  24. I guess the answer to that question is how optimistic are you about winning 3 - 4 of the last 4 games? The Swans winning could put us into the 4 next week if we beat GC and other results go our way.
  25. A couple of tough games for Essendon and North. The way Sydney is playing at the moment due to injuries Collingwood are a more than a chance. Collingwood are also in more injury trouble after this week. It's hard to know how much effect that will have, they've coped well so far this year with injuries.
