I dont care if its a top 10 pick. I wouldnt trade Brad. We need to keep some players to build our young team around.
Bruce, Green and McDonald being the core in my opinion.
From what I have seen of him playing live he just looks like an average player. Obviously a good set of mits but I dont see him really impose himself on a game.
We will take Watts with Pick 1. Something im satisfied with because he fits the bill in regards to the KPF we need.
Having said this, I think both Watts and Naitinui would both be risky selections. In Rich we are garuanteed a classy midfielder.
Its good we are doing things like this. After all it isnt going to be huge bucks that lures Robbie to Melbourne. We need to make up for that somewhere.
I would like to see Richmond in the finals. They're much more exciting to watch than Sydney and I just love watching the players deliberetly kick it over Richo's head just to [censored] him off. As mentioned on Before the Bounce.
In regards to the question of who is the best of the midfield (or not KP) crop from last years draft.
I think Cotchin is miles ahead of them all. Got all the skill in the world and alot of courage. Inside and outside midfielder. I love Cale but I see more potential in Cotchin to become an elite player.
Newton was great today. Not normally a fan but I thought he stepped up. Defensive pressure is about 40% of a forwards job these days and Juice was fantastic in that aspect today.
Something I've noticed. Its not important though.
Sylvia has fantastic hands for someone who is supposed to be a midfielder.
I can see him being our Ryan O'Keefe.
I think the problem is Bate not being the focal point of our forward line. With Miller in such good form and Newton to aim at now, Bate's importance in terms of the delivery he gets, has really been pushed back.
You were harsh on Martin and Maric. Both are young, lets not expect to much of them. Having said this, I still think both were great today.
Bate was OK. Constantly presented.
