  1. Yeh, good thoughts TimD, you put up a good response. In some regards, it is like the Swans.....they have rotated their leaders and held themselves accountable. By doing this, they weeded out a great leader in Brett Kirk, who is highly regarded not only within the Swans playing group, but from outside clubs as well. I think Brock McLean by the start of next year might find himself Captain. Also, I believe Bate will become apart of the leadership group. Within a year.
  2. Wouldn't you consider trading White for a draft pick (aka kid) or another young Ruckman on the up ie Warnock? Why keep him on the list (and clog it up), he may not be worth anything this time next year. He's form is in free fall right now, what will it be like this time next year? Freo might come to the party, so they can have White and Sandilands next year.
  3. Your motto is the Time is Now for the MFC, yet you don't like White being omitted? Its time for the MFC to do exactly what Bailey is doing. Read thread on Demonlands update after the Sydney game. White has just 5-6 points! When is the last time you saw White in Melbourne's best players?
  4. Based on this tally in order, we could identify next years leadership group of 6 as: - McLean ©, Green (VC), Wheatley, Bruce, Davey, Bate. With Aussie and Garland missing because of inexperience. That's not a bad group. Just outside those come: PJ, Jones & Miller Its amazing how far Jeff White is down the list.
  5. Brock McLean well in front, which just about seals a top 3 finish in the B&F if he plays out the year.
  6. Interesting thanks. I'm a little surprised to see James McDonald so low in the standings. I would of thought top 10. But its not the case.
  7. Do they make a mockery, or does Bailey simply put his cards on the table, and fairly and squarely asks the so called "elders" to look within themselves for improvement regarding leadership? - Because that is what they have lacked according to the players review.
  8. And you have joined the "Most Gullible List"
  9. Correct. Go Demons. Mark Stevens wrote that.
  10. Thanks Mickrocks1, I just had to have another laugh. It was good publicity for the club and its supporters. Had a call from Big Jim this morning re membership and MFC Raffle. They're on the front foot which is good to see! Hamish is a classic. He's work on "Thank God your here!" is first class comedy.
  11. I see he is out with a groin. Been a great servant of the club Junior. I'm not sure where he is situated with his contract at present. If it is only to the end of this season, they might have to sit down with him. If he is contracted until the end of 2009, he may go around again. Which he deserves. Yes Whelan needs to string several games together now that he is back in. Good to see he got back in too last week. He provides that pace and carry and breaks through the lines in defence which fits Bailey's game style. He takes them on. Which is the pre-cursor for injection of confidence for the rest of the side. Bails needs this from the backline. Thats why your Peter Burgoyne's, Heath Shaw's, etc are so important for their respective sides. They start the ball rolling with attacking plays. And it filters through further down field.
  12. I somewhat agree with you. At 27, I think he will be used by Melbourne in a serious trade for another draft pick. He is a ready made backman. Ideal for a Fremantle (W.A.). We may get a 2nd round draft pick for him. With Garland and Warnock showing great signs down back and much younger and with Rivers, Bell. Our defence stocks are ok, with other young ones being developed. Bails has told Predergast get me kids, kids and more kids. Youth is the way to go. Better to get something now at 27. Get another good kid into the system. MFC wont be trading to fill holes, they will be trading for more poicks to replenish and turn over the list again, like last year.
  13. Good post. I thought I would start this thread yesterday, to see how everyone's ideas compared to the announcement by the mfc. Very Interesting. Good to see McLean back in, and Green rewarded. I think a change in leadership is good for this time of year, a review by the players is good, its all positive. Positive vibes coming out of mfc in what has been a tough year. I see Jeff White has been named on a seven man bench. A sign of things to come perhaps. Bailey has told Prendergast "give me kids, kids and more kids" for recruiting. To continue along the youth line. Next year MFC will be the youngest AFL side by far. White, Yze, Holland, Whelan, Carroll are all on notice - 9 weeks to show the coach why they should be kept on the list.
  14. You saw all that while you were driving past? Sure you didnt park the car, get out and take all that in? Yes, Mr.G.Lyon presented him a guernsey last night on the Footy Show, Hamish signed as a member yesterday. And worked out in the gym yesterday at the Junction. Not sure about the Number 1 Ticket Holder just yet. Maybe next year? Good to see people still signing up. Around 28,800 signed up. Hopefully break the 29,000 barrier for the first time with a couple of days to go.

    SAM NEWMAN

Agree MrMoose, friends and family of mine tell me time and time again they can't stand sam Newman and the Footy Show, yet they still watch it. Why? Because its entertainment.
  16. Go Demons..............reached over 28,800 members now....woohooo! Third last on the membership table! - McNamee Hope you guys are right! $20million - Thanks Sachin.
  17. Matthew Bate = Leadership Material So far McLean and Green have been the popular selections........

True Believer, good post, what are the odd's he brings out the mannequin again? By the way for such a good post thats a far stretch from also posting "Who Cares"?
  19. I think so. Might get a few arguments re: Bate but I believe he has made some significant steps, the last 9 rounds will tell.
  20. Make up your 5 member leadership group: - I will kick things off now: - 1/Brock McLean 2/Brad Green 3/Brad Miller 4/James McDonald 5/Matthew Bate Unlucky: And if Jared Rivers could out on the park he would be a monty for me.
