  1. One things for sure Bate can be very dangerous when ball goes to ground after his contest. When he gets the ball around 55 metres out and with space....lookout! I am pleased with MFC picking him in the draft. Huge upside yet to come.
  2. I doubt very much whether Bradshaw will play. Why would they risk him before the week off? Expect our old no.1 draft pick to return, in Johnstone. Warnock will go to Brown. Dunn might get the job on Black, maybe even Brennan. If I was Bailey, and I wanted to win I would put J.McDonald on Power. If I didn't want to win though......I would keep J.McDonald - two times best and fairest - all australian - in the back pocket like Bailey has done recently. Maybe swap him occassionally with Bartram. You have to go with Bate at CHF, take Miller at Full Forward if Newton is still not ready. Play PJ (High Tower) in the pocket and swap him with White in the ruck. Where's Meesen? Lets take a look at him. Jamar out for this week. Bode can stay in. Morton another week at Sandy to brush up on his skills. His execution against Richmond cost Dees the game.
  3. You are right regarding losing concentration when marking, too inconsistent he either looks strong on the lead and marks, or presents then takes it easy at times when marking and drops or gets spoilt alot from opponent. Bate is not the bash and crash type CHF or strong mark overhead. More the lead up type CHF, much like Travis Cloke's mould. But he is still young with only 40 games under his belt. When he gets to 60-80 games, then look for improvement. He is probably the player I am looking forward to developing the most out of the list. He' is a superb tackler when on song, great technique. Colin Sylvia should watch this kid tackle and learn something instead of giving away push in the back free kicks when tackling...
  4. Well we have Michael Newton, he has to be given a chance. There is your target up forward. Injection of pace: Through the draft.
  5. Well Meesen is only 21. I'd wait until we've seen him under Bailey at least until the end of next year. He is a work in progress. Just 2 games with the Crows. I saw him in Round 1 of NAB Cup down at skilled, moves well, still green though. Alot of upside. Craig cameron missed him in the draft when the Crows beat him to it. Apparently he was spewing on the Crows. C.Cameron rates him highly. Pursued him a the trade table last year and got him. Unfortunately you can be the fastest big bloke over 100Kg and break record times but if you can't find the ball, you can't cut it in this game. Will be interesting to see what happens if the Dees pick up Natanui. We'll have White, Jamar, Johnson, Meesen and Natanui. Somethings got to give....
