Can't wait till the finger pointing starts to turn from external (ASADA told us this, the AFL has an agenda ect) to internal (the Amigos)... surely they are starting to run out of people to blame apart from themselves -
What's your definition of organisational culture Satyriconhome? Because to be honest, from reading your posts I actually don't think you have a clue what it is.

Changed the game and sad to see him go, but the right time. Will always be a legend when it comes to small forwards and those chases... His great skills were one of the rare positives this year. Good on you Flash and good luck!

Unless you're Ronald Reagan, when it comes to talking from other perspectives to WYL you're only bashing your head against a wall...

Something about bone bruising?

He only started playing footy about 5 years ago - switched from basketball!

I've heard that too BB.

Watts is the new Travis Johnstone. So much talent, such little effort.

I decided to have a look at the MFC rucks and the rucks/others you said could kick's goals and average goals/points. Here is what I got: Player: games this season = total goals/points (average goal/points per game) Fitzpatrick: 11 games =15/9 (1.4/0.8) Sellar: 6 games = 1/0 (0.2/0) Jamar: 9 games = 2/0 (0.2/0) Here are the players you think can kick ranked in order from best to worst in terms of average goals per game: Roughhead: 20 games = 60/23 (3/1.2) - Foward/Ruck Bellchambers: 18 games = 28/11 (1.6/1.3) Fitzpatrick: 11 games =15/9 (1.4/0.8) Cordy: 5 games = 5/1 (1.4/0.2) - Forward/Ruck Vardy: 6 games = 8/2 (1.3/0.3) Jenkins: 17 games = 24/24 (1.2/1.2) Giles: 20 games = 13/6 (1.2/0.6) Vickery: 18 games = 19/16 (1.1/0.9) - Forward/Ruck Smith: 8 games = 8/3 (1/0.4) Casboult: 8 games = 7/6 (0.9/0.8) Hale: 19 games = 14/21 (0.7/1.1) - Worst ratio Naitanui: 11 games = 8/3 (0.7/0.3) - Forward/Ruck Cox: 20 games = 13/16 (0.6/0.8) Gawn: 12 games = 7/2 (0.6/0.2) Ryder: 15 games = 9/2 (0.6/0.1) Kreuzer: 15 games = 7/11 (0.5/0.7) Hannath: 10 games = 5/1 (0.5/0.1) Bailey: 15 games = 6/1 (0.4/0.1) Goldstein: 20 games = 9/4 (0.4/0.2) Jolly: 9 games = 4/4 (0.4/0.4) Blicavs: 17 games = 7/6 (0.4/0.4) Leuenberger: 18 games = 7/9 (0.4/0.5) Mumford: 17 games = 7/8 (0.4/0.5) Hille: 3 games = 1/4 (0.3/1.3) Brogan: 9 games = 3/3 (0.3/0.3) Sandilands: 6 games = 2/1 (0.3/0.2) Jacobs: 20 games = 3/5 (0.2/0.2) Grundy: 4 games = 1/1 (0.2/0.2) Minson: 20 games = 5/5 (0.2/0.2) Nicholls: 8 games = 2/1 (0.2/0.1) McEvoy: 20 games = 5/2 (0.2/0.1) Sellar: 6 games = 1/0 (0.2/0) Jamar: 9 games = 2/0 (0.2/0) Longer: 4 games = 0/1 (0/0.2) Warnock: 8 games = 0/0 (0/0) McIntosh: N/A Others: Tippett: 9 games = 32/18 (3.6/2) - Forward Griffen: 18 games = 13/9 (0.7/0.5) - Mid Stanley: 18 games = 6/5 (0.3/0.3) - Forward I understand that this isn't an accurate measure of kicks but I can't help but feel that the most important thing for rucks in the modern game are efficient tap outs, pressure/multiple efforts and pace. For me Fitzy has ticked all those boxes this season and not enough people give him credit.

He has one of the highest average efficient disposal % out of anyone on the list this year... in a team that bleeds goals from turnovers he is a great citizen indeed

Jack Watts - More Discussion (for those who haven't had enough)

I think people need to have a broader perspective about this. I didnt get a chance to see the footage. At the end of the day this is his job, and ultimately we are just key board warriors. I understand why he would hold out for the next coach. Whilst I don't think it is a particularly great way to repay your team that has stood by you for 5 poor years I understand and I'd be making the same decision if I was him (mind you II [or my manager] wouldn't say it out loud) If he doesn't want to stand by the club, if he doesn't want to perform in a position other than forward, if he doesn't want to play consistent games, if he doesn't want to be a part of a group and hold out till he approves of the coach then good riddance. HOWEVER, that being said I wouldn't mind him on the team next year. -
How do you think he looks so good? Nothing says natural old age better than pinned up eyes and a marble expression

Has the AFL traditionally penalised us Melbourne FC the hardest?
PJ_12345 replied to pm24's topic in Melbourne Demons
I agree in a sense. Essendon will put it all into perspective. I say that because with Adelaide fines were more orientated to the staff, not the club in our case, and the penalties were fairly severe but ultimately reduced by the AFL because they tried to set a positive example of when a club pleads guilty early and turn in when they feel the heat... -
Hopefully Carlton's fall from grace will continue

Don't know if I miss-read you but don't you mean the second and third highest fine? 2002 - Carlton $930,000 1999 - Melbourne $650,000 2013 - Melbourne $500,000 BTW, I don't know how accurate the article is about our draft fines in 2000 because I swear we got Thompson for a first round at #16... -

PJ_12345 replied to Jonesbag's topic in Melbourne Demons
I can't help but feel the AFL is trying to be too cheeky about this whole situation. They should either wait for ASADA and charge them properly or don't charge them at all. It's a half arsed attempt to appeal to all parties and probably done them a disservice in that WADA will be keeping a closer eye on the penalties now in that no doubt they will be unhappy with the AFL's. -
Had no idea it was that long ago. I don't blame Roos for holding out. He is doing well for himself in the media and if I was him I'd rather go to Brisbane.

Bombers scandal: charged, <redacted> and <infracted>
PJ_12345 replied to Jonesbag's topic in Melbourne Demons
The club and four individuals have been charged with Rule 1.6. At this stage there has been no penalties - just charges. A hearing will be held on the 28/8 No players have been charged yet. Looking more and more like the May ASADA meeting with Essendon where they said the players will be fine might be true and upheld. HOWEVER this is just due to the interim report and AFL charges. ASADA is yet to lay their charges. -
Apparently Roos has been approached by Brisbane club officials already.
