daisycutter replied to Tinks's topic in Melbourne Demons
or maybe edmund is peddling a mixture of rumour and fact or trying too hard to join the dots? -

the bit i don't get is edmund blames the grog but then states he tested under .05. as anyone would know being <.05 is not very much grog at all (even if you had been off the grog for a while) -
you are thinking too hard, ht Thinking too hard can strain your brain

Membership Renewal emails from the club...
daisycutter replied to hardtack's topic in Melbourne Demons
it's not new, auto renew occurred to me last year too, after explicitly requesting it to not happen the previous year. i rang up last year and complained and was assured i was registered as no auto renew. now it has happened this year again (not by email but by snail mail this morning). i'm wondering if this might be an afl thing rather than a club thing. it seems to me all the clubs share a lot of the processes of membership renewal and registration. -

in the past i have explicitly requested no automatic renewals, yet that is what happened to me last year too i don't mind reminders but not auto billing -
and then they went to the vfa.....and head hunted.....and became a target to every journey man vfa player looking for a big name scalp i remember particularly billy barrot among others getting a torrid time

i just wish they'd stop using the term "sling tackle" because the discussion then just devolves into the technicalities of what constitutes a "sling tackle" (i.e. one arm pinned, two arms pinned, double action sling etc) which avoids discussing inherent danger and risk. the issue is simply one of a dangerous tackle which endangers the head, basically where the played is slammed with excessive force to the ground not saying this one was or wasn't but deserved discussion and mro review. i'd probably have given a fine to send a message, because it certainly was on the border

mro/tribunal couldn't do any worse if they flipped a coin for guilt ...and used a dice to determine penalty .....would make good reality television too
-
as i remember it show day and cup day were both 1/2 day holidays. most companies (to avoid disruption) picked just 1 of the two or gave employees a choice to make it a whole day holiday p.s. and i think some companies (not many) voluntarily gave both as full days

What they're saying down at Olympic Boulevard
daisycutter replied to Queanbeyan Demon's topic in Melbourne Demons
they're still trying to understand the rules of the game, no time for comments -
only solution is do away with interchange coaches will have the choice of run their team into the ground or start resting onballers deep and keeping them deep guess what the will choose
-
another high scoring game.......that 6:6:6 is sure working well, afl meddlers
-
it's not just a 2020 season problem. it has been going on for years. the afl can be such a bunch of bungling amateurs sometimes and certain self-interested coaches have a lot to answer for too
