  1. I know people too, some say he's going, some say he's staying, some say he loves MFC, some says he doesn't, others that he wants to play for Richmond. Others say he'll sign today, some say he'll sign next month and others still that they heard from his best friend that he'll sign at the end of the year. Some didn't hear from his friend's and they now think that he's leaving. Still others believe he's a mercenary and should leave whilst some think his kicking is poor and it doesn't matter if he leaves. Some believe he is the next Chris Judd and if he leaves our Premiership hopes are in tatters whilst others think we're better off losing him and getting the compensation picks. One amongst us actually believes he is the messiah and that is why Kevin is chasing him so hard. Anyway I just hope Tom has a good day tomorrow.{and promptly resigns!)
  2. I've read it in The Age, The Australian, the heraldsun, The local Leader, The MFC website, The AFL website, The FOX Sports website and a couple of other sports websites. I've listened to it on SAW, MMM, SEN and 3LO. I've watched it on Fox, Channel 2, Channel 7, Channel 9 and Channel 10. I've talked about it with all my football friends and some work collegues. Somehow I reckon every player knows what a big story it is and I reckon most of them want an answer from Tom sooner rather than later. Distracting, You betcha.
  3. If you were a current player wouldn't you want to know if Tom was in or out. Remember he's the only one that has been tied to the GWS circus from our club.
  4. All the players would know about it because it's been the main football story for the last few weeks. Everyone in football is talking about it, our players would be no different.
  5. Looks like I'll miss that game.
  6. The whole club is distracted by the Tom Scully situation, that includes the players. How would you feel running out with a player who may have signed a massive contract with another club. To say it's not distracting is, dare I say it, head in the sand stuff!
  7. He can. He won't. He might. He will. He shouldn't. He should. He could. He would. He did. He didn't. Friday is on my mind!
  8. If Tom Scully is not the type of player we want at our club then we are bound for more mediocrity.
  9. As yet no one has come up with any logical reason why he would be having a Press conference to say anything other than he's re-signed. Anything else is just fueling the GWS talk. Surely the club is now smarter than that.
  10. Only if nothing's said will the chooks be well fed.
  11. Why put the extra pressure on him if he's got nothing new to add?
  12. so what's the press conference for and what's he going to say?
  13. The club's had plenty of time to deal with Scully and his management and could well have come to an agreement with him by now. Friday's event is intriguing. I just think the current board is too smart to roll out their star young gun so he can essentially repeat what his manager has already said. What would that achieve, besides putting Scully under increased pressure. Personally if he doesn't commit to the club on Friday I think he's gone and that will be the first time I've thought that since this all began. The club is currently run by some smart and driven people. Can you imagine just how much positive spin can be put on Scully committing this friday, a few weeks before the season proper. Almost looks like a set up! It's a marketer's dream for a club like ours.
  14. So you think the club will roll out Tom Scully so he can essentially repeat what his manager has already said. If they do this the media and fan frenzy will only increase, by a large margin. Can you explain how anyone benefits from Tom doing this.
  15. The first line is spot on The second can't be right. He can't just repeat what his manager said it would inflame the situation tenfold.
  16. He'll commit to the club this friday. If not he's leaving. I've always been in the "he'll stay" camp but he's not having a press conference to repeat what his manager already said. My bet is he'll have agreed to terms to stay at MFC. This is the membership bump the club's been waiting for.
  17. 1. Injuries aside we'll make the finals this year. 2. We are comfortably better than Essendon who will crumble when it matters. 3. We were clearly practicing switching the play, something that still needs work. 4. If fit, Moloney will play every game this year. 5. We need Strauss to keep improving. 6. Watts is 19 7. Bate is close to finished as a Demon 8. Petterd is far better than Dunn who is overrated around here. 9. Maric needs only an injury free season 10. Scully must remain a Demon. Cream is very hard to come by
  18. That's because the players were bewildered as to why you would tag someone in a practice match!
  19. Come on HT. They'll be bottom 4 and we'll all be loving it.
  20. 1. we are overhyped 2. He is vey good 3. Hence it's the future
  21. Whatever. The issue remains that, in league terms we are a minnow. I have no problem with that as I don't have an inferiority complex like others on this site. I just think that throwing stones at North when they are struggling is really poor form considering our position, especially our position 3 short years ago. It's like the guy who gets bullied turning around and bullying the smaller kids, it just doesn't sit well with me.
