"Paul Roos is now the coach of Melbourne, he will name his assistants in the coming days. All bar Todd Viney have been asked to pack their bags and F off. Viney will become the midfield coach. Players Newton, Dunn, Strauss, Maric, Davey, Morton, and Bennell have been told they will be playing at Casey until they learn to 1. Put there heads over the ball 2. Put their bodies on the line. 3. To never shirk a contest and 4. Show some real passion for the colours pink and blue. If they can't do this by the end of the year they will also be told to F off."

6. Morton 5. Bennell 4. Wonaemirri 3. Dunn 2. Rivers 1. Martin He's the bottom 6 we've all been looking for

Don't worry he has the Age delivered. Didn't bailey find out about the job in the paper?

Can you imagine how embarrassing it's going to be when we play Collingwood and we unfurl it. I'm arriving late to that game......and probably leaving early.
-
How good's the flag raising going to be at our next home game

Add in the weekend Age POSITIONS VACANT: Head Coach Forward Coach...etc Apply: Cameron Schwab
-
Is Viney the best person in coaching at the moment? If not, who is? Now Mr. Schwab go and get him.
-
OUT: Morton (That was as bad a game as I have ever seen played) Davey (Because he deserves a rocket) Dunn (From the club not just the team, he's the next Brad Miller without the effort) Bennell (Get a kick) IN: No idea.

No need for the rest, this sums it up very well.

Green - Oh no. Jones - would suit Casey Bartram - honest but average Watts - not his worst Gysberts - I'm very thin Bennell - did he play Frawley - not in AA form Trengove - I hope Tom stays Morton - must be kidding Sylvia - get up Dunn - weak as [censored] Grimes - don't kick it there Garland - thank Heavens Moloney - welcome at casey Jurrah - did he play Rivers - Oh Jared! Wonaeamirri - did he play Martin - keeps developing Tapscott - don't know Davey - almost done at this level Jamar - valiant Bail - just ok in patches. Natanui - Must be kidding

I'm pretty sure that he dropped off the radar due to supposed off field indiscretions. Our list of nice boys could do with a bit of Jack Darling at the moment.

The press won Collingwood a Premiership. So to win a Premiership you need to beat it. We can't even kick out from fullback after a point. Last night's tactic was to kick it toward the boundary in the vague direction of Watts and co. Bizarre. When the kicker plays on no one shepherds. Strange. They cleared it with ease and not only beat us in contested possession but pantsed us with uncontested possession as well. Meaning they worked alot harder than we did to firstly man up and then to create space. Our lack of organised gameplan is starting to look silly. Expecting our players to handball out of congestion at half aback and then kick it over the flood is laughable, problem being, we don't find it funny. Something's going to give. Some other observations: If Darling was rated as a top 3 prospect all along and we are crying out for big bodied players why the hell didn't we pick him at 12. I though Watts had his best game for the season Have we recruited too many small bodied players. Terry Wallace anyone. Frawley is horribly out of form Green is seriously struggling with the captaincy Wonaeamirri, Jurrah, Bennell, Morton all disappear when the heat is on. Finals anyone. Martin's development continues..

Actually his recent form is patchy. He's not that far ahead considering he's bigger bodied and had an extra preseason but go right ahead living in your depressing fantasy world. In my world Watts is progressing slowly with great skills but is showing a lack of aggression at this time.

Petterd has to play.

Caroline Wilson writes on alleged "tension" at the MFC
Roost It replied to M_9's topic in Melbourne Demons
Wow, I really thought Caro was going to give us something to talk about. That is the same article written a few days ago, no new content. It really is quite a mischievious piece of ordinary journalism. Not your best work by along way Caro. Can't really see the club doing anything particularly unusual. Of course the pressure is on Bailey. I wonder if caro went through some back channels at the club hunting for a story and got nothing so she simply cobbled this together. Scully + Review + Stynes + Schwab talking to Bailey = story. Sorry Caro in thi scase, only just but probably more suited to the Herald Sun. -
As the GM of Football Operations I presume he has a fair input into who and how we are coached. If not, what is he doing and if not, why not and if not, let's get someone who does and put Connolly in charge of club PR. (you're doing really well if you understand that sentence) Anyway are Bailey's assistants up to the task at hand and wasn't Wellman taken from us far too easily. We NEED the best coaches, if we haven't got them I presume this review would have shown that, and personally that is exactly what I think it showed. I think the FD is under the pump but only time will tell.

Good call. The club needs to force the issue.

All fair points however it appears as though we have embarked on the next phase of growth without instilling the required toughness and plan needed to succeed. Is that the fault of the coaches, i think so although we have only played 4 games. I have been and will remain a fan of Dean Bailey and what he has done for the club. The reason I think he is gone is because this administration is hell bent on delivering the next flag(s) and fully restoring this club to where we all want it. To do that the club must win a Premiership in the next cycle (2008 - 2018) If we don't we could well remain as a club with nothing but history. With the changes afoot in the competition, with money being the driving force the big powerful clubs will eat minnows like us unless we are successful. To be successful in this environment means we have to have the absolute best people running every aspect of the club, especially the FD. I doubt an external review of the club looking at us against the competition would rank Bailey as the best person to take us where we have (not need) but have to go. In my mind the club will make a strong play for one of Roos or Malthouse. The problem being that if we take that track and don't succeed what happens then? Exciting times ahead. Any one else notice Caro's article for tommorrow's Age titled "The troubles at Demonland" Sounds like we're going to get another richmond person Schwab bashing. -
It was a poor decision, as is playing Dunn over Petterd, as is dumping Maric so quickly after his stellar preseason (deserved a month of football). But mostly as is playing an outdated gameplan. The strange thing is I've been a fan of Bailey's in the past and I'm starting to wonder if his assistants, Connolly included, are up to scratch.
