Show some respect you tool. People live their, real people with real jobs trying to make a life for themselves and their families, they don't need arrogant little tools like you bagging their home. These players didn't come to Melbourne because we're crap at the moment. Period. Maybe a moderator could delete this thread

And that's going to take a minimum of 10 - 15 years of great management to change
-
When I wrote "elite" I was meaning a full time sportsmen playing in the top level of their chosen sport. I wasn't discusssing his ability. I'm pretty sure one of the reasons for trade week is for players to move to chosen clubs as well (Presuming a deal can be done of course) The calls for free agency are growing ever louder.
-
Green for Taylor?
-
Sounds like MFC got a little overexcited with the community work and have know realised the cost over 30 years is too high. Professionalism has never been our strong point. Let's just hope they can sort it out soon as some concrete needs pouring. Suzanna, you seem fairly sure that the deal is off, what do you make of the Leader news item? I'm seeing a long term agreement being nutted out between a council (never the speediest people to deal with) and a footy club that lacks the professionalism and financial resources to wrap this deal up quickly. Combine this with some over ethusiasm and you're going to have to wait a while for results. Fingers still crossed and beginning to hurt!

I understand your sentiment and I don't want him either but why shouldn't an elite sportsmen be able to choose a club during trade week. Wasn't this one of the reasons this week was set up?
-
Like Bees to honey they pounce! This is not the draft this is "trade" week when a small number of players move clubs, mainly to the clubs they choose. Warnock is using trade week to move to club of his choice. This is part of the reason this week was set up. What draftees want has absolutely nothing to do with it.The mediation process is being used because this one deal is holding up the whole trade week, and the AFL introduced the mediation process to assist in such stalemates. The AFL are not going to hand down a decision that is upto Carlton and Freo, they atre simply trying to resolve a stalemate between 2 obstinate football clubs, I'm not sure how that compromises the whole draft system. Besides all that the overpaid, underdone beenpole isn't worth the money or the time, let him play for carlton. and send Brad Green out of town as well. Don't need either of them where we're headed.
-
Well said, common sense at last. If we're not careful the Players association will be calling it "restraint of trade" and the calls for free agency amongst clubs will get stronger, further weakening clubs like ours. This trade is holding up the whole trade week. The guy wants out, pick 24 is more than reasonable, he should be able to go. Freo are trying to make a statement afetr being shafted so many times. Don't forget RWarnock wants to play for Carlton and for that reason alone I don't want him at our club
-
Any talk of it at the meeting? I just want pen on paper

I was imagining how I'd like Jack Watts to answer said questions, or any prospective draftee really. You never know, maybe that's what Jack Grimes said as he was (still is) a big Demon Fan
-
That would be a massive win for the MFC. Fingers crossed
-
Agreed. A player's "marketability" is directly related to his match winning abilities. We haven't seen this from Aaron on a consistent basis ever! By all reports Jack Watts could be a match winner so let's invest our "marketing" dollars into him and the rest of the young players coming through. By the sounds of things Davey's staying, but if an early second rounder or higher came the club's way I reckon they'd jump at it. 2 more days to find out.

Too young to write off but I'd say we've all got our concerns with these 2

Add Butcher to CHF next year and we'll have the forward line to go with the back line. Geez, things aren't so bad down the bottom! -
Is that because Chris from Freo is now a Demon again. I think he's reformed (Chris Tarrant will do that to people)
-
Not that high, too much younger talent at that level.
-
Keep the steak knives, Morton's going to need them, Happy to keep Colin. To get another high pick in this draft we're going to have to offer something better than Bell and pick 35. Green is looking around, add davey and we might snare a top pick. These are difficult times and we need to look at what the list needs.
-
Green and Davey for pick 4 would be great, but I'd probably be happy with pick 8-12 for these two
-
Perfectly said I'd say it has more to do with Brad understanding where the club's at. He knows we're rebuilding and that finals may well elude him if he hangs around. The club knows how important it is to get as much young talent as possible so it's using it's best performed older player to attract a possible deal. If we get a top 25 pick or combine Brad with another and get an even better pick and Brad plays some finals footy elsewhere it's a win win. It's no PR problem, if anything it will show people that the club is serious about getting better. Davey and Green to Port for pick 4
-
That's a good point but if the MFC and MCC become one again then we will be saving around $500,000 a year by not using Bubbledome. (This is the reported yearly cost to the club of this stadium) Not to mention why have 3 homes as such a small club.
