Correct. It is this very reason that they make so much money from it as their supporters are forced to upgrade to reserve seat memberships, something a Demon member only does for the love of the club. Here's my thinking. You buy your MFC membership for $150, this gives you entry to all home games. 9 at the MCG and 3 at Casey(if you can get in). Or you spend $350 and you get reserve seat at MCG and Casey plus entry into any MFC games where we are the away side. This combined with some good form and you can see why the Cats are making money. It's possible. Does anyone know what it costs to build a 20,000 seat stadium with match day facilities

If the club was to return to the G would we then use the change rooms in the Southern Stand as a permanent move. Personally I'm all for the club setting up a permanent change room . As an MCC / MFC member I'd be happy for the club to move to that side of the ground. Just have the players run over to the MCC side after every game kick us a few signed footy's and return to "our" changerooms, not some shared room on the MCC side. Get it done Jimmy.

Games against Gold Coast, West Sydney, Freo, PA are along way from drawing the crowd numbers you speak of. I'm all for the G as our spiritual base. I've been a big supporter of joining the club back to the G and ditching the stupidity of Bubbledome. But we need a money making venue such as Geelong so we can grow the club. Rather than think White Flag, think taking control of our destiny in these difficult times. The State, Local Govts, the AFL can help fund the stadium in much the same way they have helped North, Richmond and Footscray. The difference being we can play games and turn a profit at our sradium. Geelong make a fortune playing games at Kardinia Park. That's what we need to look at. Initially the stadium need only hold 20 -25, 000 people. Who knows in 25 years it may hold 50,000 and be a Demon fortress from hell for hapless interstate sides wandering into it. I am thinking big, I always do, but I'm also looking long term. Start small grasshopper! Gather a larger supporter base over the next 10 - 20 years and then when we play at the G we canadd 25,000 people to our gate. Imagine Melbourne V Collingwood QB 2028, 143,000 watch as the Fearsome Demons revel in destroying the Pies, only the week after playing in front of a record 49,987 at Casey against The Gold Coast.

The lower drawing Vic clubs can't afford to play at the G or Telstra against the current interstate clubs let alone the 2 new ones. The place would hold upto 25,000 with only 15 - 20,000 seated on seats. This is not such a pipe dream. The AFL has already hinted at the need of a 3rd stadium. This is as likely as anywhere else. It's also a growth corridor and we all know the AFL love these. This takes 2,3 or even 4 Vic clubs getting together and realising they can have a deal silmilar to Geelong as far as raising revenue goes. Gotta be worth someone taking to the Summit next week. Although I'd say the clubs already got it in mind.

A long shot but imagine this scenario. A 15 - 20,000 seat stadium built on one side of the ground for club members at Casey. Then the rest could be a mix of grass and sealed standing areas. Melbourne play 12 games at the MCG with 9 being home games against the better drawing Vic clubs and 3 away games which our members have reciprical rights too. Then we play 3 games against 2 interstate sides and 1 of North or Footscray. The games are billed as family days. A local high school plays in the morning, followed by the Scorpions and then the main game. During this kids are entertained and BBQ's cook snags and sell beer for the crowd. Raffles are held and the days have a bit of a carnival atmosphere. Community groups funded by the AFL and the state government are given tickets and other local groups are involved in other ways. This is not pie in the sky, this is taking footy back to where it belongs. The Community! The Family! The Kids! I would happilt get down there to be part of this. The Saints and or North could use the ground in a similar way helping to fund it, but when there everyone would know that it's A Demons Venue, lots of red and blue. Bring it on!

The only game plan right for our 2008 list is the "kick It in a hurry" no plan plan. Which is why Wheatley faired well in the weekly best lists. You really need to give Bailey time to get the players he needs to develop his plan. And Mo it's not [censored], you would be on an island of thought all on your own if you think our list wasn't so bad when Bailey arrived.

Your argument has more holes than a ten year old pin cushion. Did you even look at the list he inherited. He played all the uninjured players, gave the young players a chance to prove themselves, before playing them at sandy again. He stopped playing all the old players who have no part of our future. Yze, resurrect his career, you must be joking. As for the game plan, give him a chance to develop it, he's getting the players and teaching the young, just what a coach should be doing. Take a look at the player's recruited since he arrived. Morton, Grimes, Maric could well turn out to be 3 of the better players to play for this club. Don't discount Cheney and McNamara either. I'd say he knows exactly what he's doing. As for your "Beware Bailey" line, I'm sure he's quaking in his boots at that warning.

I really don't care how his departure came about, I don't care if we dumped him or if he walked out, one thing I know for sure is that the cluib has been actively trying to move him on him for 2 years. Alas, nothing, not a nibble inside the top 100 draft picks. He's simply another ordinary player who has parted with his club. In essence it's not nothing because his departure gives us another draft pick, probably pick 51, which turns out to be of great value considering no one would trade us anything better.

Dude, he may have "promised" something as the son of Alan, but like many sons of good players Chris's promise was just that. He has never developed into the player this club currently needs. Most people see that and are fairly content with the fact that this club is now carrying one less ordinary footballer on their list.

I think the Saints of 2004 were a superior side to the current Blues team and probably still are. If you look at the ages of the Saints players the're not that old. Maybe still a chance but things would have to fall their way

Carlton's team is a house of cards, 2, maybe even just 1 card missing and the whole thing will topple over. You have to build from the ground up and develop the players as a team. We'll pass them in a few years as they stagnate between 6 and 10 on the ladder.

Carlton have very little talent after the top 5 or 6. They are a 6-10 position club and they know it. If they were serious contenders CJ would be playing for Casey next year. It's going to be really enjoyable passing them, Collingwood and Richmond on the way up the ladder over the next few years

If he coached to the player's abilities this year they wouldh've been kicking it off the ground. He's trying to improve the gameplan that was shown ineffective by the last coach, who also tried to change it only to find what cattle he had left standing couldn't run or carry, or kick, handball or mark for that mattter. The buck does stop with him and I'd say he's prepared to back himself and his plan going forward. After 1 year so am I.

Because he's ordinary at best and not worth a 2 year contract or more money. Good call by Bailey
