  1. Sorry Rollo I'm going to have to bail due to a niggling injury. I'll be playing next time.
  2. I don't think I have anything on that weekend. Put me down.
  3. For home and away games they issue seat tickets for level 2 and 3. So when you want to sit on those levels you approach a staff member and they will give you a seat ticket. If visitors want to sit on levels 2 and 3 you will also need to get them a balcony pass. The availability of balcony passes depends on how popular the game will be, information is available on the MCC website. For levels 1 and 4 it's just normal seating, you can leave a clothing item or something on your seat if you want to go get food/drink, go the bathroom etc. Visitor tickets are $30.
  4. Thanks wolf! appreciate it.
  5. Hi wolfmother, I'd love to attend. I'll send you a pm.
  6. Can everyone please wait until the season starts until we rattle on and on about the lack of gameplan, terrible skills etc. etc. It is widely acknowledged that the NAB cup is a bunch of practise matches and that a team's performance in the NAB cup carries low correlation with their performance during the real season. Our playing list has experienced significant changes every year for the past 3 years. This current group of players have had very little time to experience playing together yet....this situation will improve starting this year. You'd expect few changes to our list over the next few years, and so our list we come out looking less young and raw each year over the next few years.
  7. I don't care if we win. It's a practise match, we're not fielding our best 22 and it's over in Perth. The season proper is sooo much more important. I just hope Scully and Trengove get a few touches and no one gets injured. Even the media don't really give a sh!t about the NAB cup, everyone knows your performance in the NAB has very little correlation with performance in the home and away season. Oh, and I'd love to go see us play the Bombers at Visy next week. There's a practise match that would be worth winning.
  8. At this stage count me in. I'll let you know if anything changes. - Junior
  9. Luke is a professional sportsperson, I'm sure that no matter which club drafts him, he will work hard to earn his salary and progress his career. Has he actually said he specifically doesn't want to play for Melbourne? Probably not, it's just Herald Sun journalism spreading BS. If he is the best available option at pick 18 I'd be happy to have him. He's far less of a gamble at pick 18 than an unproven, undeveloped kid.
  10. I had a fantastic day. Went in a bit nervous...having not played footy for a very long time. But had a few touches and enjoyed meeting everyone. Will be there next time. Thanks to Rollo and WJ for organising and coaching.
  11. Happened to be driving past Vic Park this afternoon so thought I'd check out the condition of the playing surface. It's in pretty good nick, there's been some work done to the centre square so it is sandy around the middle, but other than that looking pretty good. Took a couple of iphone shots, and yes, I do have too much time on my hands. http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=1558...mp;l=c83f6fcdf1
  12. Same here, if you see me in me Dees shirt say gday.
  13. The World Cup would be hugely beneficial to Australia. It is a massive global event that absolutely dwarfs our AFL. IF we actually managed to win the chance to host it the AFL would need to make sufficient room, it's only for one year, and it's worth it. In return the AFL would probably receive some sort of compensation, not to mention would benefit long term from a massive investment in Stadium infrastructure. No doubt the AFL will battle the government and FIFA in order to minimise how disruptive the event would be, and so they should.
  14. I visited Vic Park about a month ago, the turf was in pretty good condition. I imagine with all the spring rain it should be OK.
  15. What's the standard like at these matches? i.e. what's the ratio of guys who regularly play footy vs. guys who don't even own a pair of footy boots?
  16. I'd like to take this opportunity to talk down my ability. The last time I played a game of Australian Rules football was for East Sandringham Zebras under 11s, about 15 years ago. However I do play competitive sport on a regular basis so hopefully will be able to get my hands on the pill. I'm about 5'10 and 76kg, so somewhere in the midfield or on the bench would probably be appropriate.
  17. 1997 Melbourne 4 wins 18 losses Essendon 9 wins 13 losses 2000 - Melbourne vs. Essendon GF 2009 Melbourne 4 wins 18 losses Essendon 10 wins 11 losses 1 draw ?? 2012 - Melbourne vs. Essendon GF ?? But this time our midfield will tear them apart.
  18. Brad Cascade Green Austin Wonabeeri Brad Miller's Genuine Draft Ale Morton etc.
  19. I think we should consider Darren Jolly and continue to try and coax a good player into the PSD. Jolly is an established ruckman who can kick a few goals, get a lot of the pill and be a mentor to younger ruckmen. I believe he may contribute towards a faster rise up the ladder. I'm not buying into the 6 year talk, if we trade in a couple of established stars this will bring our premiership window closer, and given all of our kids in development, leave it open for longer.
  20. It's worth noting that Jurrah has averaged 2.2 goals/match having only played 9 AFL games. This ranks him 16th in the league. If he plays 22 games next year and manages to even slightly improve on his average then he will kick 50+.
  21. Additional car parking should be constructed on top of Jolimont railyards.
  22. 14 MFC matches and 16 non-MFC matches. 1 at the Gold Coast, 1 in Canberra, 1 at Etihad and the rest at the G.
