  1. Although it's probably BS, it would explain why the players have been so selfish in the forward 50 this year... that has really stood out to me.
  2. This. Spot on I reckon. The MFC were planning on sacking Schwab but couldn't because they had to sack Bailey and they couldn't sack both of them. Schwab's days are numbered. Don't let this get lost in all this: Bailey can't coach on game day to save himself.
  3. Because they get monstered by teams who have an average of five more preseasons into their bodies and can run, and tackle, and "bruise" them into submission.
  4. Agree. We will try on the others but I can't see it happening. Maybe Roos...
  5. Our players get more games experience. Our players develop more self belief. Our players get stronger. Colin Sylvia re-signs. We don't lose by more than 6 goals for the rest of the season. We beat West Coke at Etihad.
  6. Sorry mate, I checked and couldn't hear any Tony Shaw nor Neil Craig on 3aw between 4pm and 7pm on Monday.
  7. Just watched the interview, and I gotta say, some of the crap in this thread is just scaremongering. Sure Greeny didn't handle the tough questions well but they were tough questions. Yes, he wasn't prepared to deny Schwab and Connoly don't see eye to eye, but that's not surprising. They are very different people and I'm sure have different ideas about how to do things. Same as any business. Nothing to see here other than that imo. And for those calling for a new captain, if you'll remember J Mac was horrendous the first year or so. Give the bloke a go, seriously, some of you need to take a chill pill and enjoy the ride it's going to be awesome. Ask her what time it was and I will check the audio for you...
  8. I was absolutely shocked by the size of the crowd. Mind you, the players keep dishing up trite against half decent opposition, so...
  9. If we win this game Bailey gets re-appointed for 2 years at seasons end, but I don't think we'll win.
  10. Sylvia's not going anywhere.
  11. He's not ready to be captain, but he will make a great captain in a few years if we go down that route.
  12. One of the worst performances I've seen from Bennell. His best is good but his worst is completely ineffective.
  13. Callers: Bruce, Dennis, Lane, Hudson Comments: Lyon, Dermie, Roos, Frawley
  14. Great preview Demonland. Thoroughly enjoyed the read. Cheers.
  15. In: Jamar, Gysberts Out: Gawn, Bennell Sub: Morton
  16. Please don't drop forwards when the problem was our mids not winning any contested ball or clearances.
  17. Yes, Sylvia is an attacking player, but the stats don't lie... 1st in the competition for inside fifties. 10th in the competition for tackles. 19th in the competition for contested possessions.
  18. He made him realise that he wasn't going to get it on a plate, and that when it was taken away from him, it hurt. It made him realise how much he wanted it. That he would fight for it. That he would go in hard for it... Masterstroke.
  19. MEDIA RELEASE FROM THE AUSTRALIAN FOOTBALL LEAGUE The AFL wishes to advise the Melbourne Football Club has appealed the three-game suspension handed to Jack Trengove for engaging in rough conduct against the Adelaide Crows’ Patrick Dangerfield, during Sunday’s match at the MCG. The hearing in front of the Appeals Board will be at 5.30pm tomorrow, Thursday May 12. Melbourne appealed the three-game suspension on three grounds: • the decision was so unreasonable that no Tribunal could have come to that decision having regard to the evidence; • the classification of the level of the offence was manifestly excessive; • the sanction imposed was manifestly excessive.
