  1. I'd take Dawes for sure, but Butcher would be better.
  2. This would be huge for us if he does make the decision to come. Will make the climb back up a lot easier over the next two years.
  3. Mate your kidding yourself, he's not a fringe player at all. When he hasn't had injury concerns over the past two years he's easily been in our best 22. And he has a lot of upside. Ever notice how the elite players like Scott Thompson, Dane Swan and Jobe Watson (just a few examples) are very intelligent? So is Stef, plus he is the most agile ruckman in the comp (excl. nik nat). Trading him will prove to be an error imo. With a clear run at it, he is ready to excel. Collingwood obviously knows this.
  4. Especially given he was injured half the year and never had a run at full fitness! One thing I will say about Sharrod Wellingham. He certainly does have a square head...
  5. Take the Geelong, Sydney, Collingwood and the Eagles teams of the past decade and compare them to the current Hawthorn team. I want a club like the former, not the latter, is my point.
  6. I want a club that is ruthless and does whatever it takes off the field. But I don't want a club that plays like pricks on the field. I don't want a club that plays like Hawthorn does, for example, in this Clarkson era. Kicking a bloke after you've tackled him to the ground... I want a club that plays the way David Neitz did. Hard, but with honour.
  7. Yeah Neeld said the story had come out of thin air and him and Aaron had been joking about it.
  8. Gysberts was told by Bailey to put on weight. He was told by Neeld to loose it. This is not a rumour. I still think it is the right decision to offload him, however.
  9. Have I missed something or has the club not officially conceded to losing him: http://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/7415/newsid/146623/default.aspx
  10. yes, one bad game. I don't care about previous years or the start of the year when he was recovering from a broken back. Since then he has been CONSISTEntly excellent. so stfu
  11. I know that he's a very unimpressive person from listening to his game previews on the MFC site.
  12. What a joke of a thread. Was obviously playing hurt after the shin problem. Had 8 possesions until the shin issue and very few after it. Our best player over the past six weeks and he has one bad game and it's time to get rid of him? You need some perspective mate.
  13. Mate skill has nothing to do with that. Can those players execute those passes? Yes, of course, so they have that skill. Do they? No. Why? Because they have no belief. Whose job is it to instill that belief, or at least help them generate it? The coaching staff.
  14. So far, Mark Neeld and the rest of the coaching staff are doing a terrible, terrible job of coaching this football side. Anyone who thinks otherwise is kidding themselves.
  15. Agreed, noticed that, it was bad.
  16. Fair crack mate... he's also had one of the most frustrating runs with injury of all our players over that period. Great point OP. Yeah he's played some poor games over the journey but given his work environment over the past 5 years I'm not complaining. Brian Royal's head is the one that should be on the chopping block.
  17. Has to go to give Couch a chance, surely...
  18. Bleasey won against the GC last year.
  19. Howe needs to stop missing those shots he is getting a few mins in when we have the ascendency. Two weeks in a row now, really lets the team down.
  20. Fletcher and Crameri out would be very handy. Please play Sylvia in the guts tonight Neeld, from the first bounce. I know he needs to learn how to play defensively in there but ffs your current plan isn't working.
  21. Martin must come in for Jamar. His tapwork is completely ineffective at the moment and provides nothing around the ground.
