Either Buckley was not a good coach or he had completely wrong list for the style of play he wanted to implement. Either way, he had a pretty young premiership list that didn't perform except for 1 year.

Prefer an experienced "younger" coach with a definite plan on how he wants the team to play and how to develop and implement. Lots of good names being thrown around. Experienced coaches like SImmo, Buckley, horse bring a different quality and known approach but the success of say McRae and Mitchell shows new ideas as we are not building from scratch but working to improve our existing list which has enough quality to make and compete in finals.

Delivered us a Flag and it was great, he will always be remembered and honoured for that success. but since 2023 has not been blessed to prepare and deliver success with the list. The blame is not only on him and he will not be the only one that needs to go to bring success back to the team. The question is what type of coach do we go for? Experienced Horse or a new coach like McRae, Mitchell to bring success.

Touching on Jones appointment. The main issue I have with his appointment was that he hadn't worked in any other system. I imagine it had some new ideas, the most obvious one being bringing Kozzie into the mix. However, he didn't go look and coach in other successful midfield system and then bring them back adjusted to his own ideas. As far as I know it was retirement, media midfield coach. Hence why was have run pretty much the same system all year with the same results. Know what I don't know if Goodwin not following his advice to change the mix till this week?

JAI CULLEY warmed up over the match, Ddint know he was a little dee (dee's supporter), make sense why eh was so happy after that first goal in our colours. But can we play like this against a good side. Today was pretty much a training run on how we should be playing.

yea, First crack show the stupidity of our players and coaching, wtf was Viney doing, not standing on the corner of the square like theatre side.. Then why did Bowey turn around and not watch the ball. it like he was expecting a long kick and not a pass.... Total confusion. at the worst it wa 1:1 so how did their most damaging players not have anyone on hi, This was 100% on the leaders and the coach.

Great to see us beak another record, the biggest 3/4 qtr come back in VFL/AFL history, of wait.... How pathetic. For a team that had defence first it was shocking. It sums up how the team have been repaired and coached this year. Lack of fitness to run out a game. The sub decision: What did Spargo offer when he came on, nothing. (his efforts were pathetic from what I saw on TV) Sharpe would have been far better, speed and maximum effort and would have made a difference in the last. Enough to hold on who knows. As for the 8 seconds, why didn't the mid run with the oppo players as they run forward as that shorter kick was always on. I missed what the free was about? Yeah time for the coaching team to go.

Sadly true, just needs to be given an opportunity to play in the centre if that is his best position. Not good playing players out of position when bring them up.

Points for discussion: Skills - simply not good enough this is with handballs actually to advantage. Then kicking, virtually all kicks held up in the air and gave time for the opportunity to close down the target. What has happened to ability to kick flatter to a target. We do it, just we didn't in this game. On Skills Jeffo marking. Every mark was a chest mark. He's got nice long arms, we need to get BB to show him how and a rule at training that every content by Jeff I marking at maximum reach to develop that skill. For those that have seen hi Casey games, does he mark out in front or was be being nervous in the wet on game day (Even then some bounced off his chest) Positioning - I could only see the spectrum of the kayo broadcast. but we crowd and rarely have someone to receive on the outside in the right position for that clean and quick break. Player do has designated roles for this but they are too close. For the rest of the year I want to see players that have been performing well at Casey to have a series of games to see who stays and goes. But this needs to be in position they play at Casey. Which players can play the style we need for 2026 and beyond. This decree needs to come from above Goodwin and make it a club policy, whether they don't deserve it the reason not elevating, we have many players no given an opportunity to perform at AFL level that have been on our list for an extended period. Poor skills costing us and the club is not fixing it. The blues looked cleaner and it made the difference. How many 50's did we give away. We can't blame some really poor decisions by the umps as we didn't score a goal in the 2nd and that cost us. Jeffo better in terms of presenting....but it just needs to practice marking above his head at training, everything was a chest mark and they didn't stick, he nearly dropped his first chest mark.
