FINALS 2022: Week 03
The swans crumb so well around packs, they have some really smart "small" players.

Lloyd Meek
Has looked good in the ruck, haven't paid much attention to his work around the ground. Better long term option if he fits the bill.

AFLW: Rd 04 vs Brisbane
A 8 point game for both sides and a chance the create a break in the top 4 position. But its also hard to get a read on the quality of their opposition. Freo, Suns, Giants, Freo has fallen in a hole, suns/giants 1 win each against west coast and swans. Bit like North smashed sun's round 1 too. It will be a close tough game as they always are against Brizzie. I think we can cover Harris. I agree on Zanker, think she has so much to offer but wasn't the best last year. I think opposition put more time into her now. But she's looked better this year.

Farewell Luke Jackson
I agree. I do wonder about the "go home" players. It really shows a real lack of maturity and restricts one's need to become an independent adult as a natural progression. It's not like he's joined one of the services at 18 (like many do) and is now serving overseas for 6/12 months with little of no contact (Its better than it used to be). What happened to young people trying to get away from their family to build their own lives. (This is not a direct critique of Jackson, but a general view of all those players claiming home sickness).

At least its offical, action can be taken. It doesn't say a club so that gives us more flexibility.

Farewell Luke Jackson
Listening the Brown on the couch months ago, he said each year they got sorer and more banged up over their 3 peat. But he end they weren't in a good shape by the fourth GF. Forward 20 years, the game is harder in terms of impact and faster, therefore the shorter recovery has a bigger impact. Plus as we know this year we had more injuries which meant players took on more load in games than last year. Look at the Cats this year, they managed their players over the year deliberately to ensure they stay fit for the finals. Our conditioning team will assess based upon the data. Whether Burgo's idea of playing though injury was the best approaching this year, I guess will be looked at.

Farewell Luke Jackson
I would argue most of our players were playing sore I the later part of the season. People do seem to be under rating his ability based upon the last section of the year, but he wasn't alone in trying to be consistent in his standard of play.

Farewell Luke Jackson
Jackson is worth 2 x 1st rounders. Its being reported he won't nominate Freo so WC compete for his services which makes it a bit more interesting. Also Peter Bell has been offered the North job and most likely to take it,,, Meaning we'll be dealing with someone else, we won't need to put up with his public games as we did with previously. Interestingly the position they supposedly offered Jackson at Freo, is a role he could do at the Dee's if we really wanted. It would also upset others planning against us, if he could do that role well. As noted by others, Jackson is a known big man quality. That is hard to pick in the draft (Taylor did a brilliant job) even at pick 2. Either hopefully he does announce his decision today so we can move on the the deals side if needed.

PODCAST: SF vs Brisbane
Hi guys, Enjoying the podcast. Pity the expectations of success didn't bear fruit. My question whether for this podcast or the seas review is: In hindsight can we see evidence of structural change over the 2nd half of the season by Goodwin that he mentioned in his press after the loss?

Strange news, I don't remember any tackles were dangerous, not one went off injured etc?

Trading Draft Picks for Salary Dumps!
wowee. I wonder who / club proposed this idea. Maybe the Pies. In theory it helps as you could retain a "super' team without breaching your cap, just give away your picks for a few years and reap the benefits. The "destination" clubs would love this.

AFLW: Rd 03 vs St. Kilda
It was like watching a men's game lately, but the women don't score fast enough to catch us. We jumped them and looked great. They tightened up and create a rolling context. Would have improved with 1 handball and a releasing kick, often we went back into trouble under the pressure.

POSTGAME: SF vs Brisbane

POSTGAME: SF vs Brisbane
Well it gives us more time to get ready for next year. The fwd line needs a major shakeup up. Poor selection this week after last week. Except for a few, there wasn't the desparation needed to win a final. Hopefully trac didn't do any more damage.
