Oliver had a typical game for the last few years. He'll hav good games but he desert seem to have the drive anymore to really push himself. Given green gone for the year he has some job security.

But has we know our decline was deliberate fro the VFL by changing our recruitment zones. These teams have a more even chance to build a good list today. But I do acknwledge that the AFL have skewed so much to particualry to the gold coast in giving them all that talent for nothing. I'm guessing once they win their flag or three they'll ease back on the uber assistance as the foundation for ongoing success will be set like the lions and swans. though whether they get decent crodds is another questions.

Really dont like it... though Charlie's song has become a cultural event for the lions which is good. Thanks for everything he did for us, a key player in our premiership and success while at the club. Will miss his innocent what did i do act... Not unexpected given recent decisions. Wish him al the best, and I assume we'll see him running around in a team below AFL level.

Yes, consistency is the key for Kozzie to be up there with the best, he has the talent and more. Hopefully this year with his new role.

Good first hit out against another team. Good signs across the board. North wasnt at full strength and had players playing out of their normal position. But the fast movement seems to be embraced. What I did notice when kicking to the key forwards in the FWD line, I actualyl say out players in position on both sides of the contest waiting for the drop. This rarely happened under Goodwin and the opposition would freely and quickly run it out of defence. Picket was outstanding, but there was no tag or really any pressure. As for his cousin, amazing runs, but his kicking was on. but it was his first game. Heath was great against Xerri, if we can hang onto him, we;ll do the job for us.

Agree, against a fast-moving skill side which doesn't exist for normal teams. In a normal H&A game, he has the time to get into position and intercept. Not possible against this opponent or even for the Vic's as an option as they moved it too quick. But he got to play in a state of origin, which is great.
