  1. Agree. You might try and do a deal for say Bate or Dunn as at least they are on the park, unlike Gumbleton and then hope our medical staff can get him right. He has hardly done anything in his time at the Bombers and they may have had enough. If he then failed with us it wouldn't be a catastrophe. He turns 24 next year and has played 22 games since 2007 and none this year. Hardly a star.
  2. I note that the saints say they won't bid for a U17 pick. There will be others who feel the same. So it might only be a few clubs bidding for the U17 picks as many know they won't have the asking price available. This will make our chances better of getting 1 of the picks. We will know this time next week.
  3. Thanks. Did you see the article on bananas in the Sun?
  4. Not sure whether we are interested in him, but it is funny how every time a player is mentioned Hawks and Blues are named as the ones interested.
  5. We just up the ante and offer Scully's xrays.
  6. They were offered Goldsack and pick 30. Should have taken it, they got nothing and he helped them lose a flag. If he was playing for them and helped get a point they win the first GF. The only joke is on the Saints, too smart by half.
  7. Its not. Announced thursday night. Actual pick of the 17 year olds is monday.
  8. Me too. I thought he was great in the final. Unfortunately that is all I know of him. BP might know a smidgeon more about him.
  9. I can just imagine the AFL recruiters screaming at the GWS list guys " I would give anything for Jaeger, but I won't give that", over their lunch of meatloaf sandwich at Etihad next week.
  10. I know what you were saying I just pointed out that after the anticiaption came the disappointment. It has been exactly the same for me. I also don't think that having Neeld is actually fresh bait. The bait is the trade offered and he won't be part of any trade. I don't think the revamped footy department will help either. The professionalism might though. Really when it gets down to it if you don't offer a player that others want or a decent pick for a good player you don't do a deal. Too many on here think we can offer stale prawns and get a lobster. Sorry to use the fishing analogy but you started it. I would be happy if we could secure a player we need or better pick options for players we are happy to let go. PS. I don't fish and I wouldn't want my bananas near fish.
  11. Contrast your line of . "This year I have a feeling it might be different" with your opening line. There is the problem.
  12. Damien Barrett on sunday footy show named about 10 people being interviewed by Saints for roles and didn't mention Ayres. You may have heard it here first.
  13. Also the Cats won without Sanderson. Then again someone had to win and the argument would then be raised.
  14. As Senior Coach or Assistant. The way I have been going he will end up at South Morang.
  15. Rubbish he was paying his respects, nothing wrong with it. Rhys Shaw was there as well, any problem there?
  16. Gary Ayres and Chris Pelchen having breakfast at table next to me this morning. The words "great new facilities" were heard. Might just be a couple of mates catching up or could be more.
  17. No place for sarcasm here. Maybe we would even consider pick 88.
  18. Good move. Probably the worst of all time. Bring back Angry Andersen and the Batmobile. Even the female Aboriginal opera singer who sang off key was better.
  19. $1m that could have been spent on junior footy. This is an absolute disgrace. He is just past it. His backup singer was great however.
  20. Don't actually think it was us. He is referring to teams announcing their coach leaving before the new club can get a presser up. It has become a habit. We didn't even announce our GWS defector going until they said he had chosen them.
  21. i would have thought that after a few years with his line, the players would know what is expected. They don't need Neeld there to hold their hands. They were just beaten by a better side, which also beat them twice during the year with Neeld.
  22. Not helpful in rewriting history. He gave $2.7m because we were in debt and needed it. Have a look at the Annual Reports and see what our position was.
  23. Forward Coach Barry Hall. Would put some sh-t into them and knew how to play the position. We could then draft Fev and he could warn him one misdemeanor and he would knock his block off.
