WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - HERITIER LUMUMBA
Redleg replied to Moonshadow's topic in Melbourne Demons
Ralph just said that the Dees are not one of the clubs talking to Malceski and that Lumumba might just be testing the waters with us. I can see a direct swap coming up. HL gets out of melbourne and Malceski provides experience to the Pies after Maxwell's retirement. Maybe I am reading the tea leaves the wrong way. -
What's 1 draft pick we have nailed in the past 10 years?
Redleg replied to The Stigga's topic in Melbourne Demons
Yes, Tom Mc at pick 53 is a good pick. The departing FB was taken at 12, 41 picks earlier. Who would you rather keep? -
If this bloke was a surgeon there would be bodies everywhere. If he was a garbage collector the streets would be covered in rubbish. If he was a chef, all the patrons would have food poisoning. etc, etc, etc.

Agree. He lost pace. He had a stuffed foot. Now it is right. Lets see next year. He could be a great recruit for us.

Probably right. The first was last year.

Don't think so. Sheahan, Garry Lyon and plenty of others seemingly in the know are saying the Cats. Don't think he is looking to move interstate. Also some of the Buddy money kicks in and the Swans will be letting some players go to make room.
-
I know that, but ask the average fan what they want, a flag, or money in the club account and we know the answer.

And there you have it.How can forum posters get it right over a highly paid expert, but that is basically what happened? I feel sick every time I see Talia or Darling play. Our problem is not 1-2 mistakes over the last 8 years or so it is 1-2 correct. I am not counting last year under the new recruiting team.

The two worst decisions were the appointment of Prendergast which I think was made before he took office and the appointment of our previous Coach. We are where we are because we had the worst drafting record of any club in the last 8 or so years. If we were successful on the field the off field would have taken care of itself. Football clubs are judged on on field success not the balance sheet. Ask any Demon fan what do you want a flag or a $5m dollar bank account.

The terrible legacy of club destroyer Prendergast lives on. Overlooking Daniel Talia at pick 13 for Gysberts, despite most on Demonland hoping Talia would be there at 13, now winning Crows B & F on top of AA selection and AA squad selection this year. This guy nearly destroyed the club on his own.- 34 replies

If that is Tom Mc, that was a great pick. -
Agree. All but Williams lived long lives. A lot of talent gone. Williams, Rivers and Rooney were absolutely brilliant at their craft.

Just finished dinner. Now off to to the TV to watch a good game of footy.

One is a linebreaker with real pace, the other a solid and reliable defender, who can set up play with good disposal and also kick the odd goal. -
I think if Mitchell goes it could be to Carlton, another one of his father's clubs.

I shudder to think.

The number worn by the great Trevor Korn.

I think there is a flavour called salted caramel now. That sounds good.

And there goes my last chocolate milkshake.

Slightly different as Cross delisted and Vince and Tyson traded, for better picks by their clubs, but I agree generally.
-
Sceptic but not septic.
-
You think so. Malceski could come in the PSD for nothing.
-
Agree.

The guy wants to play finals and earn as much as he can. This is the system the AFL has created. The anger needs to stop. We should just appreciate his efforts and hope that he has 4 boys who are all good footballers and then when they are draft age we are a strong club to which they can come as father sons.
