Yep there is luck in footy. Would Rioli, Burchall, Hodge, Bruest, Stratton and Frawley out like today have seen us make up the 2 points we lost by, or Sandilands out have made up the 2 point loss to the Dockers. There is always luck in footy. We have played most sides at close to their best and at the same time with us missing some of our most important players, Max and Jesse for starters.

We had the chance to take the All Australian CHB in Trengove's draft, but took Gysberts. I went to the MFC draft function thinking we would get Talia with our 3rd pick, as we knew the first two and was furious when I was told we would take Gysberts, who I didn't know anything of. I remember sitting there thinking gee I hope this Gysberts boy is good, as most knew Talia would be a very good player. We have stuffed up so many picks before Taylor came, it would be comical, if it wasn't so sad. Destroyed any chance we had of recovering.

Fair bit of upside for us this week. Pies return from Perth with injuries. Salem back in, which will improve our disposal. Maybe Hogan back too. Hunt should be better than last week and Tom Mac would have to be. Lewis's first half last week was diabolical and he should improve. Melksham found some form. Hannan continues to improve, Wagner too. Petracca had a poor one and will have a big crowd to lift him. It is effectively an 8 point game, so a win to us could kill off the Pies. We are back at the G even though we haven't played well there this year, so something to prove there as well.

If he plays, he will play most of the game close to goal, meaning he won't have to run as much and will straighten us up.

I think the word from Adelaide is that Lever will sign soon.

Sidebottom goes under the radar, but he is a great footballer who rarely makes a mistake and moreso, sets up Pies goals, if he doesn't just kick them himself. Stop him and they are really hurt.
