  1. Probably because we could get them. Actually they add some experience, hardness and better delivery to the forward line, ( hear that Jesse ) than some of the players we have. Also, it probably allows us to move players like Hunt and Salem to the wings.
  2. I agree. We are a destination club for Essendon 26 year old half back flankers. Probably the main one, since we have got two in successive years.
  3. Ok, not the greatest. Very one sided. Will go hard and a nice left foot kick. Does have 80 odd games of experience.
  4. No, I meant the others were being sarcastic, calling us a destination club, off the back of Hibberd coming. You didn't pick up on their sarcasm.
  5. Turned the sarcasm meter off did you. They were joking.
  6. Go Scorps for some silverware, sort of, for us.
  7. Hope so. He was impressive yesterday.
  8. Because we aren't an AFL love child.
  9. Just enough to make him feel unwanted and financially disadvantaged.
  10. My mail is after Hurley, Hooker etc and Watson to come, the Bombers had to offload someone and Hibberd is the one. We made an offer to him and Bombers declined to even match it, in either years or amount. That is why there is such love between the parties. This is a unanimous deal, with ex club and player happy.
  11. The Brisbane Lions are idiots. A couple of goals less and they have Pick 1 and PSD 1 to use on a rebuild. Just plain dumb.
  12. I have no doubt even the AFL hierarchy would agree. Stupid, stupid and just plain dumb.
  13. How about in a Bombers jumper and for free.
  14. It would actually end up as probably a straight swap of O'Meara picks for Fyfe, if it happened.
  15. We don't have to upgrade the deal, it is done.
  16. I am curious, as to whether we can gain some useful picks by trading players, who are surplus to our needs. I actually think the Bombers are quite happy for Hibberd to go, as I am told that they refused to match our offer, both in dollar terms and years, which would have seen him stay a Bomber. They used a lot on Hurley and the others and one clearly had to go to make room. Now of course, he is the greatest player that ever lived. Like some others on DL, I am still not sold on him, but he could be useful with that long left foot kick. However, I am a real fan of Taylor and trust him to find us a gem.
  17. I would be thrilled if we did though. Even better if we got him with a late draft pick, like Jayden.
  18. If we lose to the Cats and Port win it could be 26. Get the bucket ready.
  19. Worsfold saying early 2nd round pick would be fair for Hibberd. Our 2nd round pick will be in first 8 picks of 2nd round. Therefore an early 2nd round pick. Deal is done.
  20. Just before people trade Salem like some wanted to delist Hunt, I will pass on the comments of a father of a boy, who played in Salem's year and saw him often and whose opinion has proved pretty accurate in the past. He told me that Salem was the equal of Kelly and that he thought he could be a great AFL player, when he fully develops and gets some games under his belt. Said he was hard at the contest, silky skilled and with a lethal left foot.
  21. Posturing for their fans. The word is the deal is done.
  22. Tauto was one of my favourite racehorses. Around the time of Tobin Bronze, another favourite.
  23. I don't like the bad publicity the banana is getting, because of some Port Power moron fan.
