  1. It was also their job to pay other blatant frees too, not just umpire for the crowd. How could a forearm to Max’s face in a marking attempt not be paid, or the hit to his head on the wing, or the hit to Tracc’s head, or Tom Mac being grabbed around the face by Jonas and then copping holding the ball, or the 15 metre throw in towards Port’s goal and straight to a Port player not be recalled, just as a few examples of disgraceful one sided umpiring. It happened to the Bombers and Pies there as well recently with the only difference being their coaches mentioned it. That said Port deserved to win. I thought with the rain we were a bit top heavy as well.
  2. Agreed but that doesn’t change what I said. Port was the better side for 3/4, had a young star playing his best game and the umpiring. We had 3/4 of our team playing poorly and tactically were beaten as well. They deserved their win.
  3. He would not have called the 2nd 50 no matter what as it would have put Lever close enough to win the game. That was never going to happen
  4. Jono Brown gave the answer on the non 2nd 50, said if they paid it and it was clear there, MFC could have won. That’s why it wasn’t paid, like plenty of other blatant frees. Wish Chris Scott was our coach just for the media conference.
  5. Agreed but 5-6 goals from soft frees and blatant frees missed to the away side and 10-2 in a tough last quarter certainly helps. That kick out to the left is killing us and tonight how many goals did they get from it. Too many players poor. Disposal poor. Played from behind. Why wasn’t Butters tagged? Junior coaches would have 10 minutes into the game.
  6. We have far bigger problems than a 6 game kid.
  7. And boy is it showing.
  8. Agree. We have been down in clearances for weeks.
  9. Every time we touch one of their players they attack us. When it’s us we do nothing. Max being attacked and no one stands up. Pathetic. Umpires as putrid as our disposal. This kicking to the left is just killing us. They have sent it back every single time. Too many players down, Viney, ANB, Kozzie and Tracc need to lift. Anyone knocking May isn’t watching.
  10. Yes badly worded, should have said -1C.
  11. The player some are suggesting will be the player of the 2022 draft is Bailey Humphrey, the same player JT tried to trade up for.
  12. In Canberra for a couple of days and it was minus 0 when woke this morning.
  13. In my scenario that could happen, if they were sure their boy wasn’t taken at 2, 3 or 4.
  14. Players stay, players join, players leave, that’s a part of the development/evolution of teams.
  15. Well done. Yes, some things ARE bigger than footy. Truly tragic situation. Everyone’s thoughts are with the family.
  16. There is a real chance that WC would prefer a top WA kid, so if they finish bottom, they could look to trade 1 for picks that would get them more top talent, but still getting the boy they want first anyway.
  17. Ordinary batch for a big game. Isn’t 20 the umpire who awarded about 15 frees to an Adelaide side in Adelaide and none to us, or have I got him mixed up with another umpire?
  18. If you see an opponent run at you, when you have the ball near the boundary line, do you think you would know whether he is in play not. That is clearance unfair and it has been discouraged by the fine. We move on to the next strange, one off charge, against an MFC player and the club. We might be the first club to be charged for littering, for a player throwing a bandage on the ground after a game.
  19. Played his best game for Casey. Looks to be developing nicely.
  20. I corrected my earlier post to definitely on Murphy, maybe not on Jackson one.

The new team needs a stadium that can support fans and is a centrepiece of TV coverage with a big supporting footy crowd. Watching the empty Giants stadium at their home games is soul destroying and I am sure the broadcasters hate it. There is no doubt that a Tasmanian team would bring tourism and money into their economy, which in time would repay any contribution to a stadium and provide many extra benefits for the State. However, if a vocal minority ruin this, that is the end of a Tasmanian team now and for the foreseeable future and so be it.
  22. Well at least we got consistency finally. The MRO has found another new way to penalise a MFC player and the MFC and given several past incidents, that is the only level of consistency the MRO has ever achieved. On the other hand it’s not behaviour the AFL should encourage.
  23. I have no problem with the fine. It could lead to an incident and is not helpful.
  24. Both did. Well definitely Murphy was fined.
