Lachie Hunter Loses Bid To Overturn 1 Week Suspension
Redleg replied to Monbon's topic in Melbourne Demons
Just put this picture up. Hits him at best with his bum in the chest and Rozee actually grabs Hunter as contact takes place. How is that high contact? -

The problem seems to be when the penalty is called. It can be really badly manipulated, as we saw today. Today a free to North was then overturned to pay the interchange penalty. Is that in the rules, I would think not. Waiting until the ball is forward of centre guarantees a goal.
-
But my point is why would you want to give up a good pick, for a boy you could get later with a lesser pick.

I would appeal, but I don’t think we will. -
So you would rather we lose our first pick in the draft matching for him.
-
Well done. I also won race 7 with Vongole, Flemington running double.
-
Exactly. I am confident we have told him he is a likely f/s, so it would be better to take him as late as possible. So we don’t need him starring every game.

No head contact or injury, so wonder how you could get to medium or high impact, but I suspect the inconsistent one will. -
I was hoping that would be questioned in the media.

No contact to the head. Stopped and was reaching for the ball. Appeared to brace and didn’t use elbow, forearm or shoulder. No injury. Rozee played on without any treatment and kicked the winning goal in fact. All commentators during and after game said it would be looked at, but should be ok, as he did everything right to protect Rozee as players are being taught. Verdict, life imprisonment.- 449 replies

Understand, but if he got the 50 and kicked it and they didn’t respond, it would have won the game. Anyway I understand your point.
-
That worked well for us yesterday.
-
There is nothing wrong with backing your system and players, but when it’s not working, there is a lot wrong with not adapting or changing what is happening. It would not be stupid to suggest, given the 4 point margin, that putting a hard tag on Butters for the second half would have won us the game, despite everything else.
-
It was also their job to pay other blatant frees too, not just umpire for the crowd. How could a forearm to Max’s face in a marking attempt not be paid, or the hit to his head on the wing, or the hit to Tracc’s head, or Tom Mac being grabbed around the face by Jonas and then copping holding the ball, or the 15 metre throw in towards Port’s goal and straight to a Port player not be recalled, just as a few examples of disgraceful one sided umpiring. It happened to the Bombers and Pies there as well recently with the only difference being their coaches mentioned it. That said Port deserved to win. I thought with the rain we were a bit top heavy as well.
-
Agreed but that doesn’t change what I said. Port was the better side for 3/4, had a young star playing his best game and the umpiring. We had 3/4 of our team playing poorly and tactically were beaten as well. They deserved their win.
-
He would not have called the 2nd 50 no matter what as it would have put Lever close enough to win the game. That was never going to happen
-
Jono Brown gave the answer on the non 2nd 50, said if they paid it and it was clear there, MFC could have won. That’s why it wasn’t paid, like plenty of other blatant frees. Wish Chris Scott was our coach just for the media conference.
-
Agreed but 5-6 goals from soft frees and blatant frees missed to the away side and 10-2 in a tough last quarter certainly helps. That kick out to the left is killing us and tonight how many goals did they get from it. Too many players poor. Disposal poor. Played from behind. Why wasn’t Butters tagged? Junior coaches would have 10 minutes into the game.
-
We have far bigger problems than a 6 game kid.
-
And boy is it showing.
-
Agree. We have been down in clearances for weeks.
-
Every time we touch one of their players they attack us. When it’s us we do nothing. Max being attacked and no one stands up. Pathetic. Umpires as putrid as our disposal. This kicking to the left is just killing us. They have sent it back every single time. Too many players down, Viney, ANB, Kozzie and Tracc need to lift. Anyone knocking May isn’t watching.

Yes badly worded, should have said -1C.

2023 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
Redleg replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
The player some are suggesting will be the player of the 2022 draft is Bailey Humphrey, the same player JT tried to trade up for.
