  1. Now you might know how I feel when unbelievable comments are made about a certain player
  2. In summary, Rivers, Bruce and Miller need to be shown the door! They are not good enough for their experience and age. Melbourne has declared a youth policy, so follow through with it!
  3. Another Bruce bashing thread You guys are ridiculous
  4. You and every Bruce Basher have no idea. Lets assume you are correct that he can't kick, well why did Dean Bailey allow him to kick from a behind a number of times. I repeat, DB has confidence in his kicking so he lets him share the kicking in with Grimes As I have stated in a different thread, up to 40 metres he is an excellent kick
  5. Why are you commenting about his handballing and his style of kicking. I will repeat myself as you obviously have trouble reading. When it comes to passing the ball by foot he is excellent. I don't care how he drops the ball as long as he hits his target. Stats back me up. I say again he is bad when shooting for goal and his handballs are questionable at times. Is that clear enough
  6. Bruce does one bad kick and you state he is a deplorable kick. Why don't you watch the game, his efficiency rate on Sunday was 80%. He is an excellent field kicker and his passes rarely miss. I will admit that Yes in front of goals I hold my breath
  7. Scully has been one of the worst. As per the stats he had 6 clangers against the woods and the same sunday. I am not saying to drop him but he turns it over the most
  8. Nearly all of you have missed the point of my original post. Maybe thats my fault for calling it Bruce is a good player. My point is that Bruce played a good game. He beat his opponents all day and had possessions which were not turnovers. Even though Bruce played a good game he was bagged. A lot of you Bruce Haters cannot acknowledge that he played OK. I did not want the thread to debate Bruce generally only his game against woods. I poster stated he is gutless and and cannot kick at all. Well the coaches have never dropped him and he is on leadership group for some years. So you think you know more than football dept. I don't think that poster actually barracks for melb and it bothers me that some of you barrack for the same team as me
  9. I have been about once a year for the last 8 years as my grandchildren live there. Last time I went was to a Port game. At quarter time the scoreboard showed a list of all Port goal kickers followed by a replay of each goal. I thought that at least I would see our only goal again. But no. At halftime and 3/4 time they again showed a list of goal kickers followed by vision of all the Port goals. They never once showed a list of our goal kickers. I wrote to AFL to complain that this showed a total lack of respect for the opposition and would never happen in Victoria. I never received any reply The port supporters are the worst in the league(ask any adelaide supporter) and I believe part of the reason is that Port management teach their supporters that Port is it and the rest are crap and should be shown no respect.
  10. Very poor and disapponting post and obviously cannot read. My original post was ONLY about Cameron Bruce's game against Collingwood. My point was how can anyone critize him for that game and want him to be dropped. " Terrible kick" tell me exactly when he did a terrible kick on saturday
  11. Cameron Bruce has never been a champion but since 2000 he has been and still is a good player. I thought he played a good game but as usual there are demonlanders calling for him to be dropped and one even stated he cost us three goals. Am I missing something ? So to answer my own question I watched the game again. I only watched Bruce and I often rewinded the tape to make sure I did not miss anything. Its amazing how much you miss watching the first time. You often only remember the bad things. An example is Bate, he made two bad mistakes ( kick into man on mark and not kicking to Petterd) everyone just remembers that and not the many good things he did during match. So this is my view on Bruce's game. His role was to be a defender and due to the woods rotations he had many different opponents such Thomas, Anthony, Cloke etc. His direct opponent did not kick a goal, he was never beaten one on one, and the possessions his opponents had can be counted on one hand. He often blocked for his teammates allowing them to mark. Leon Davis is difficult to tackle so how many of you remember that great tackle in the last quarter which earned Bruce a free kick. So as a defender he earned a big pass. So I will now move on to his possession game and execution skills as everyone bags. Tony Shaw bagged Bruce for a turnover that cost a goal in the first quarter, I'm sure a lot of you did to. Bruce marked the ball from full back and McKenzie ran passed for handball. Lets stop here, It is Mckenzie's responsibility to look ahead for clear space before demanding the ball. Bruce was facing the woods goal so its his responsibilty to make sure that no one is catching Mckenzie before he handballs. Bruce marked the ball and gave it to Mckenzie who was clear, Mckenzie ran a few metres but stopped because a woods player appeared behind Bruce, he panicked turned around and handballed to Bruce who had three players around him. He was tackled with a resulting goal. On this occassion Bruce did everything right but Mckenzie made the mistake. Shaw had another go at Bruce for a handball to Bate. Yes it was low at Bate's knees but he received OK and gave a good handball of. It was the next passage ( trengove) which made the error yet Bruce cops the blame. Bruce had 19 possessions and they all and I repeat ALL hit the target. He did drop a chest mark from a kick in but he quickly gave a quick handball to a running defender which commenced another inside 50. So in summary he beat his opponent all day and had 19 possessions which ALL hit the target. So all you Bruce bashers out there, get hold of a tape and watch it with pen and paper. On the left had side write all the good things he did and on the right the bad. Please do not come back to me and state I remember this or I remember that. If you want an intelligent debate tell me at what point it happened in the game.
  12. Miller has no upside He might be a great off field leader but I never want him in the team again I repeat that he has no upside
  13. I started following demons in 1967 and had to wait 20 years for my first final. Thanks for reminding me that we made finals only two years after Barassi left. I am not saying to current members to wait 20 years but I think you can wait a bit longer before demanding Bailey gets the sack
  14. "don't have anyone to replace him" Anyone can replace him. Miller will never improve and would never get a game in a premiership team. So i say give his spot to anyone with potential as we won't be worse off eg. Martin still shows potential
  15. And to rank them in order: St Kilda – 9 Fremantle – 9 Richmond – 8 Hawthorn – 8 Brisbane Lions – 7 Carlton – 7 Collingwood – 7 Essendon – 7 Port Adelaide – 7 Geelong – 6 Melbourne – 5 North Melb – 5 Western Bulldogs – 4 West Coast – 3 Adelaide – 2 Sydney Swans – 2 Thanks for that Unfortunately it doesn't prove my point but Interesting that Adelaide( top facilities) only had two but have been in finals every year. Fremantle and Richmond (average facilities) rank highly but have performed badly
  16. I am of the opinion that training facilities and dollars spent on football department are the key ingredients to success. For the last five years we have been a long last. In the past you cold get away with this but the super speed and strenght in football now demands this. So I don't believe that draft picks automatically mean success. Can someone help me here . Can someone tell me how many top 10 draft picks each team had at the end of last year. Do not include Scully Trengove etc etc as they have not played yet.
  17. What a pathetic post. I am not interested in casey finals but whats best for the Dees. Lately I have had a suspicion that Bailey wants all players fit for preseason in early October. He dropped Bartram Miller and Dunn but they did not play for Casey. They were promoted for St Kilda game. I think all that Bailey is thinking about is next year and getting players to have a full preseason. I think Bailey is doing a fantastic job so far. I would be happy to win 8 games next year building up to a flag in 2013. Finals experience with Casey means next to nothing
  18. Their is a lot of talk about priority picks. I believe we will win 5 games because we play West Coast, Port Adelaide, Richmond, Fremantle at the MCG and North at Etihad. Obviously I will be disappointed if we miss out on pick two but look at it realistically. We have had a reasonable run with injuries in that most of our better players are available. After one and half years under Bailey we should be playing better. How many games does everyone think we will win?
  19. Had some spare time and found our 1st round picks from 2001 to 2006 Molan (pick 9) Bell (14) Smith(15) Sylvia (3) McLean (5) Moloney (traded for pick 12) Bate (13) Dunn (15) Jones (12) Frawley (12) At this point in their careers I would only include Mclean as a very good player. Thats only one in ten
  20. I think its certain now that Warnock will be a demon. If Warnock wasn't coming here then i think DB would have kept White. He has dropped Jamar, we know Meesen cannot ruck and although PJ is good around the ground he cannot ruck either. If DB fails to get Warnock then its a mistake not to have kept White as insurance.
  21. He gets the ball a lot. I see his problem not in the quality of his disposal but the number of times he gets caught in a tackle. Often the ruckman tap it onto his chest but he is not quick enough with his hands. His slow hands is his biggest fault
  22. I cannot remember the last time White was picked on bench. Can anybody remember
