Best 22? / Next 22??
Tomlinson isnt fit, neither is Jonesy to the best of my knowledge. I think GOTO had a formula about those who missed full training pre-Christmas and their chances of missing games in the season. If fit Tomlinson would be a no-brainer. I have fingers crossed with Viney and Tmac. Our finals chances rests with these two doing full pre-seasons in my view and I understand they are being managed a bit.

TRAINING: Wednesday 11th December 2019
My country cousins called me a Yarra when I was a kid. They were cactus. Maybe just a Romsey thing.

I think what ANB does do is get to the ball quickly, turns on a dime and in traffic either slots an unlikely goal or hits up someone in front of goal. Maybe he misses some set shots but generally to my mind he puts them through. He doesnt tackle hard and he does have some bad games but his positive abilities make him worth it. He seems to play well when the team is going well.

TRAINING: Wednesday 4th December 2019
It is a concern that TMac and JV seem to have foot issues still. Hannan and KK I have basically written off. It was after Xmas last year that it came apparent just how many were into long term rehab or had just started full training. It really rocked me and I thought I had seen it all.

Tom Green (Drafted by GWS Giants)
Whomever we bid on at 3, if there is not a match, many will perceive that we picked the lesser of the 2. Although a few will think a backroom deal was done. Coming last in consideration will be, we picked the player Melbourne need the most for the next few years. That's my punt.

I have always thought Nibbler is good at making goals out of slim chances but still missing set shots.

The Splitting of Pick 8
It might be a slight loss but the draftees keep sliding up and down on recruiters preferences. It says more about how highly strung this time of the year is. Not to mention how reactive the recruiters seem to be (or what they say to journalists). It does seem jackson has been a bolter and Young and maybe even Anderson(!) might slide. I think we are playing our hand very well. Be funny if we get Young and Jackson at 3 & 10. Edit: I can envisage the possibility of GCS deciding on Green instead of Anderson. But AFL have probably said they have made their bed.

Fair enough Ian I do wonder if what was said "Live" may have been worse than what was ranted on DL during this year, in what would have been a larger audience.

In defence of OMac critics we had to wait a year to hear from the club about the amount and seriousness of surgeries last year. I havent been a critic of OMac other than noticing he couldnt get off the mark quickly. Im not sure if it was used as I did not attend last night but it is a pet peeve of mine when the terms "We all know how bad..." are used to described incidents that DL could only guess at but were not confirmed by club officials. Acting as if you have missed the memo is an age old strategy to put one on the back foot.

Phantom Drafts
There is no Lochie Whitfield in the top 3- 5. That would be great. We can do with another excellent outside Mid. Tom Green is looking superb. But we have plenty of inside Mids. Hadyn Young? Even if he was another Basher Houli its a lot to spend on HBF. Luke Jackson? How many very good talls have we got from Centre to FWD? 2 - TMac and Gawny. It just makes sense to take Jackson even if Weid, Pruess and Bradtke come suddenly very good. Luke says he is ready to play Round one. His highlights are very good. Left and right foot, great groundskills and solid pack marks. 12 year player probably. I dont see whats not to like.

Cal Twomey may be good but he predicts Jackson at 14 (October). He will be gone by 4.

Rd 1 Team vs West Coast
I look at Lever and am reminded of Warren Dean, a very good wing or half back but he was played in the spine and although tall enough his body wasnt cut out for it and injuries claimed him.

Jack Martin
Jack has made Jack sh!tt difference in a final. How did Tom Lynch go in his 1st finals last year? Not that he is that good but he would most likely lessen the amount of average players in our best 22. I think $650 per annum is pretty good value. How much is Jake Melksham on?
-
Jack Martin
Only the best players can make a difference in a close final. I hope we are trying hard to get Jack Martin. Ive no doubt if Hawthorn or Richmond were in our position they would be pulling out all stops to get him.

Jack Martin
Probably im wrong but I think he is fit now and ready to fire. Much more likely to play 20 games than Bennell. While costing a lot more than any other PSD player, if we have the money, I hope we go for it and act like a big club would.
